The non-DLC'd liners on the PM2, Para 3, etc make my OCD rage!! :( I wish Spyderco would started coating everything like on the Manix and Native. The St Nick's Manix and BHQ Jade M4 DLC Native and Manix are perfection.

Don't need another PM2 but I've marked my calendar. Have to keep the SNK collection going

It should bother me too yet for some reason it doesn't. I at one point Sal said they didn't coat the liners because of the compression lock

I will try for this one too. I like the St. Knicks exclusives. I too would prefer the liners to be coated from an aesthetic stand point. I think it looks really good on the Manix 2.

At $10 over the base Paramilitary 2 with a black coating... This is priced phenomenally well. I like smaller knives with a 2.75" - 3.25" blade, but this is going to be ridiculously hard to resist (for the 2 minutes they're going to be available, lol).

Per their IG this is a 1200 piece run (minus qc losses) so at least there are a few more available compared to their previous offerings.

I don’t think that’s the whole story. The Yojimbo 2 blackout is blacked out all the way.

I think I'll skip this one. I can't see myself ever carrying it in preference to the SNK Manix.

I also hope they do a Military.

Yeah I thought I remembered there's since been one model that was made completely blacked out. Couldn't remember for sure. I do know at one point Sal said that DLC messed with the comp lock. Looking at my DLC PM2 it appears there's no DLC on the lock face. There's a trace on there but it appears that it the majority of it was removed. I wouldn't think it would be too hard to DLC the liners and then remove a little for the bottom surface of the lock bar. There has to be another reason they don't do it on the PM2

Yeah, I remember that too. Something about DLC decreasing friction and thus the lock not being as secure. I still think they should just coat the liners and then just touch the lock part on the grinding wheel for a quick second to remove the coating on that tiny section of liner and blade. Problem solved.

I'm not a big PM2 guy, but it's 4V, I am 100% in.

I seem to recall reading or hearing somewhere that there were issues with DLC & compression locks that were causing them to look at either TiCN or making very minor adjustments to the lock to get DLC to work, the later is supposedly what was done to allow the Blackout Yojimbo2 to be a thing... I'll see if I can find or remember the source of that information though :)
