Thanks. So, it’s a bit brighter and more orange than the HAP40 FRN?
- best wishes, Jazz.

It’s definitely a more bold/vibrant orange, not brighter.

Here’s direct and indirect sunlight comparison shots of used Rex 45 G10, new Rex 45 G10, HAP40 FRN, Rex 45 FRN:

Both are bright, Rex is a darker, "burnt" orange. With CS orange FRN for good measure.

I dunno... I really don't particularly like the FRN colour, or I guess I just prefer the old g10 a lot more...

Nice! Awesome collection. I think the "burnt orange" looks great in all its iterations.

I'm with you guys, I'm shocked at how many people don't like it! I knew right away once all these Golden models were going to be released, my wallet was going to be in trouble!! Thankfully our pup is doing much better and not going to cost us nearly as much as I anticipated...leaves more room for play money :)

Well, it had to be done, and it's an absolute 100% perfect fit for both knives... Now I just need to figure out what colour I'm going to Rit the FRN handles to, I'll take suggestions or if anyone has experience with Rit'ing this new FRN colour that would be cool. I'm just sitting here opening and closing it, it is on point, just perfect! :D ;) :)

Y'know a really neat feature of this knife that isn't part of many Spyderco's is the swedge. It's not super noticeable, or even necessary. But little details like this indicate that the designer wanted to spend an extra five minutes just to make the knife extra cool.

Looks great! As for the RIT dye, with those orange scales I bet a deep red/burgundy would turn out nicely.

Thanks, I'm really happy with how perfectly the blades swapped, you would never know it if, well, you didn't know.... hmmmm :p

I was thinking the same thing on the scales, I did the deep-red / maroon / burgundy approach to some bright orange Endura scales that turned out well, but could have been a tad darker, so I think starting with a darker shade of orange will make the final outcome a little darker, I will post up when complete!

It's obvious the Native has been improved time and again. I'm with you on the love for the swedge.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
