The best pocket knife ever

The Urban Light Weight, in this case K390, is the best overall pocket knife ever. It carries light and easy. It is easy to live with and use everyday. It can be opened with one hand. It has superb steel. It slices like a surgical laser. What more could be asked?

I hope we see more Urban versions, but I also hope they fix the issues that cropped up last time.

I'm gonna whole heartedly agree with you on this one :D The Urban k390 is such a great, world legal EDC or backup blade, and I would love to see some more colour and steel options the future!

Eh, we'll have to agree to disagree, I prefer the Baby Horn as a pocket knife. The only advantage a slippie has, is legality in some places.

I don't pay attention to knife laws to begin with, so legality is a moot point for me. Same with guns, I carry one regardless of location or restrictions and everyone around me is safer for it.
(12vs6 rule)

Really though, the only slippies I'm interested in are a UKPK Salt(G10) and the PITS. I have had two of the latter, but they always seem to find a way out.

It’s a great knife but for me the handle is a little off and it’s too pricey for me to keep and risk the self destructing pivot some have experienced. With the aeb-l f&f issues, surely manufacturing of these should pass to from Maniago to Golden.....

The greatest pocketknife ever is the Maxamet Military. Sadly it hasn’t been made yet. :)

A neutered knife is the best knife? No way. Today I won't even consider buying pocket knives without a lock because they'd never end up in my pocket.

The best knife is something gets used.

Tough crowd, but the Urban is definitely up there for me. Have 3 of them.

The Maniago f&f issues may be a touch overblown. The spinning pivot can happen with the frn UKPK. I've had excessive loctite on knives from several factories. Grit/gunk in the pivot impeding normal function can be from manufacturing debris or from normal carry/use.

My main gripe is that the tip of my AEB-L Urban does sit unusually high compared to my other examples. Based on other complaints it seems to be widespread if not typical of the whole run. Should be a fairly easy fix, but it makes me want to buy multiple for gifts, etc as I originally intended.

The case you make is compelling, but for the Achilles’ heel that is common to all of Maniago’s unlined FRN.

Definitely the best choice if you need to meet legal requirements. I love the K390 Urban.

STRONGLY agree!! If the same quality as the HH exclusive. I have to say I strongly prefer that knife to any other slippie I've had, including a couple Urbans.

So very true. Fortunately for me that's usually either a 52100 Millie or a GB1, but I don't have to worry about restrictive knife laws.

This was definitely not going to go down without controversy. I've never had one, never even held one, but it looks like a great pocket knife. Can I still disagree? 😝

I don't know that it's the best, but the combination of K390 and linerless FRN certainly makes it a winner.
