REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
Over 20 minutes at Knife Center, that's definitely the longest so far! Still there though.

KnifeCenter may be out. It says you can add to cart, but if you go to the item page, it says "Discontinued" Nearly 30 minutes there, though.
Glad you got a Manix 2 XL, Rinzler! I've never owned one, but I am excited to see a the performance of such a big slab of M4!

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
I notice that people are bonkers for the Lil Native Rex than any other Rex Sprints out there. I wonder why?

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
It's the first sprint of this model. The first exclusive was more expensive and only like 600 made so very few people got a chance to get one. This sprint is cheaper and more plentiful than that first exclusive. The St. Nick's was only $5.50 more and DLC coated, but there was definitely a lot less available, if I remember correctly after QC that had fewer than 450 available.Spydergirl88 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 11:42 amIt's the first sprint of this model. None for this guy either! I had the St Nicks, but something about it just didn't work for me. Nice to see it was available for a while at KC and some of our members were able to score one.

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
Anyone know if Blue Lube is good enough to coat the Rex blades? or should I get something more stronger, like the TufGlide?

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
Blue lube is fine for pivots and moving parts, but it's kinda tacky/thick. I wouldn't use it to coat a blade. Mineral oil (if food safe is a concern) or something like tufglide is better for a blade coating.marshmallow wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 4:11 pmAnyone know if Blue Lube is good enough to coat the Rex blades? or should I get something more stronger, like the TufGlide?

I've successfully been using EDCI for quite some time on various non stainless, works well and supposedly food safe.

Re: REX45 Lil' Native Alert Thread
Lo and behold, my order from Northwest was on my doorstep this evening. A nice little surprise ending to an otherwise exhausting week of work. Looks like USPS failed to update any tracking until it was delivered. Thanks to you all who kept the rest of us up to date on the various release times. This little guy is going to make a great compliment to my Caly3 Hap40. Kind of an old school vs new school knife design.

Mineral oil works...
Got mine the day after I ordered from NGK. Talk about service. I hope everyone can grab one and put it to use. Mine got a couple boxes to open today.

So many knives, so few pockets... :)
