Blue & Teal ZOME
Blue & Teal ZOME
Delica of course for me!
Who would like to see standard (smurf) blue and teal ZOME?
Also dark blue and smurf blue ZOME would be good too.

Solid colors only for me please! I know it's totally a personal preference thing.. definitely not mine. To each their own though CG ..

The dark blue and smurf blue sound interesting but it’s something I’d like to see first.

YAY! :D
We need MORE Zome! I'm curious if the Golden lightweight models will ever get the Zome treatment. (Maybe exclusive only to Japanese models?)

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I like the zome in theory, but I haven't like the colors so far. Light and dark blue, or blue and teal, would probably sell me, though.

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I wanted the pink/purple zome delica to put away for one of my girls, but it sold out before I realized/learned what exclusives/sprints were.
They love teal now, though Spyderco’s teal isn’t teal... turquoise maybe.

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I honestly can't stand it. It's a double barf for me. Zome just looks cheap and sloppy and frn is on the low end of scale materials I desire. Different strokes for different folks, but count this guy out!

"Inspired by this rich artistic heritage, Spyderco's Zome knives are unique variations of our lightweight models, which feature injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles. The handles are molded in a light base color and then individually hand dyed by expert Japanese artisans. Using a technique reminiscent of traditional hiki-zome (brush dyeing), various colors of dye are hand brushed onto the handle to create distinctive, one-of-a-kind patterns. Like Japan's classical dyeing methods, the special dyes used completely permeate the FRN to permanently color it."

Aqua, whoever called it teal obviously has never seen one.

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
Agreed, the Zome is just ugly to me. It is a total deal breaker. FRN is actually my scale material of choice though (Micarta a close second) and I would much rather see a blue GITD FRN Delica, Dragonfly and Jester paired with Cruwear.

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
Hmm, blue accent are very pleasing IMO, could be fun as a knife handle colour.
But I am not sure about teal and blue.....teal has kinda greenish look to me.
For me: more like blue and sky.

Im a vegetarian as technically cows are made of grass and water.
Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I was in the same boat. I got lucky and grabbed a teal delica for my older daughter, but the little one was in love with the pink/purple zome. I hunted for one for a year. Always just missing one. Then I put out a desperate plea on a FB group and found someone to sell me one. I just got 3 Teal Dragonflies, one for each girl and one for my wife.
Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
In the realm of Syderco, Teal IS as Spyderco has produced it (delicas and dragonflies)! It is slightly skewed to the blue and like the Sky you reference.

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I shied away from it. Then, one purchase, found myself needing an add on to get to free shipping. The Pink/Purple ZOME Delica was discounted and filled the need. Figured I was gifting it to my daughter. Ended out keeping it for myself. I'm a terrible Dad!!! :D

P.S. Now we fight over who is in possession of it! AND, I'm not really a terrible Dad; I've given her tattoo ladybug, teal dragonfly, grasshopper, BM hidden canyon hunter, Buck lockback, Boker and Case traditionals in vibrant colors...

Re: Blue & Teal ZOME
I've seen teal references throughout time that are skewed to the green as well as being skewed to the blue; sometimes teal blue and teal green. I've never been able to pinpoint which is correct and which isn't.
Turquoise has been the same game. I've seen vibrant blue turquoise, subtle blue turquoise, and subtle green turquoise.

I'm not a bird guy, but isn't there a green and blue variety?
I shot one so so long ago that I can't remember the exact color on the wing feather. It was the start and the end of my duck hunting days.

I am not at all a fan of any of those knives but they are absolutely beautiful together in their ugliness! :D
