I'm in doubt. I love rex 45 but 180 euros is a bit steep. I was under the impression that it would be a little lower..

A question to those of you who have the G10 Manix 2 in Rex 45 and at least one other Manix model (regardless if LW or G10):

The specs on Spydercos hompepage are for most Manixes (Manices?):
Blade: 3.37" (86mm); Edge 2.88" (73mm)

But for the Rex 45 Manix:
Blade: Again 3.37" (86mm), but EDGE: 2,95" (75mm)

Now call me crazy, but in THIS particular size category I am looking for each mm more that I can get in cutting edge.
Really not the most important thing in the world for me, but still something I value...

So: Can anyone confirm that the REX 45 Manix actually has a bit more edge than other Manixes?

(If so, on the flip side it should have a choil that is a tad shorter - actually that is the case with the Straight Spine Stretch 2 compared to the regular Stretch 2: About the same blade length, but the SS version has a bit less choil and a bit more cutting edge)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Those may be accurate numbers. It's hard to capture in pics, but the rex45 edge does appear to be 1 or 2mm longer than both my 52100 and my cruwear (although I guess sharpening could be the cause on mine, too).

Hmm, that's weird. I just lined up my Cruwear, 20CV, 52100 and Rex45. Cutting edge, to the naked eye appears to be the same on all 4.

I measured most of my Manixes and found the following:

Rex 45 and M390 are 75.6mm (2.975”)
Cruwear and XHP are 75.2mm (2.96”)
Even the S110V that I chipped some of the tip off of is still 73.0mm (2.875”)

Thanks to all of you for taking the time and comparing / measuring your Manix´s ! (And even taking pics!) :)

I guess, differently to SS Stretch 2 vs regular Stretch 2, all the Manix models will generally have the same blade-, edge- and choil-length and the different specs are probably just measurment deviations...

As said, not a big deal anyway, but a longer edge (even by just 2mm) would ONE of many factors I´d consider when deciding between different Manix variants.

Attila's precise measurements should definitely be trusted over my eyeballing!

They are more than precise! :)

Still, the Manix measurements given in the catalogue or reveal are interesting generally (though this is not relevant in a practical sense at all):
The blade length seems to be always the same, while the edge length varies by 1 or 2 mm (for example reveal 4, Rex 45 Manix LW vs G10) - which should consequently mean that the blade part of the choils is are of the exact same length in every model.

At the time, nothing to contribute :p

But I did look at my M4 and XHP models, and they are very close to same. XHP has been sharpened more, so a bit shorter.

Yes, a 138% markup is vaguely annoying. Lol. Yet some on here will defend their business model tooth and nail.

What the heck I just did......
Yesterday I was browsing knivesandtools and they had REX 45 Manix still in stock.....a bit more expensive then I saw on other european shops, but somehow my brain just stopped working and I ordered one......I guess this is my Spyderco folder purchase for this year.
In the pocket: Chaparral FRN, Native Chief, Police 4 K390, Pacific Salt SE, Manix 2 G10 REX45

Congrats!! :)

So you did what I was very, very close to... ;)
I am sure this must be a great knife, I myself did not pull the trigger in the end solely cause I am trying to focus on SE blades

But, to be honest: I am already thinking of getting the Manix LW (which does NOT come in SE...) - REX 45 (when it comes out finally) or in translucent blue and the "new" steel CTS BD1 N (I had the black one one in CTS BD1, and like it at lot)
