What spyderco do you iwb carry?

UKPK when I'm wearing light weight shorts with no pockets. Blade is a decent length and it's so lite.

pacific salt se black/dlc all day, every day. the rounded edges on the handle and light weight make it a perfect tool for this application.

I have to agree with you, almost word for word! PE for me, however. I chose mine for iwb initially because of the rust proof material, but it stayed because of the ergonomics. I feel no knife is better for this application.

Almost all of them...except for the little ones without a clip.

Yeah I do this in shorts a lot during the summer with the S110V UKPK.

As far as I'm concerned If it's tip down IWB is good to go... Millie's , Paras & my personal fav the Caly Jr of course!

Inside waistband.

I don’t. I think it’s a crazy way to carry. Real bad if the knife opens somehow.

What works for me in general to carry at 1 o’clock position:
- 3 inch or less blade length, if longer the handle becomes too long and uncomfortable
- deep carry clip
- lockback or similar lock with good self close
- relatively stainless
- thin, smooth handles, i.e. ti or smooth G10

I carry these often:
Spydiechef - on the long side but works rather well. Blade hides deep in handle so it feels safe enough.
Native 5 S110V - with Lynch deep carry clip
Native 5 Cruwear - with Lynch deep carry clip, stainless enough
UKPK S110V - very light and stainless
UKPK S30V - stainless enough
PITS - excellent
Ti Chaparral - probably the pick of the bunch for comfort.

I really never carry iwb, but I often carry my dragonfly salt in that tiny key pocket in the waistband of my running shorts in the summer.

I don't regularly carry IWB but when I do it's usually the Pacific Salt SE.

I only carry backlocks in waistband - never any detent based lock. I had a framelock open up on me while IWB once, thankfully I wasn't hurt. :eek:

Depends what I'm doing. I have some hiking pants with angled pockets, and they just don't like holding onto knives. If I'm doing something and I don't trust the knife to stay in the bottom of my pocket, that's usually when I'll clip in inside the waistband.

I always carry the Dragonfly 2 Salt SE (usually the leaf shape blade, but occasionally the hawkbill) in the waistband of my running shorts/running pants when I go trail-running. I've also carried the Native 5 Salt PE in its place on a number of occasions, but the combination of the Dragonfly 2 Salt's imperceptibly small footprint, negligible weight, and imperviousness to corrosion just make it the perfect "running knife" for me.

If I bother to carry IWB, it’s not a knife.

I usually carry smaller back lock or slipit edcs with wire clips iwb. Typically around 9 o'clock (lefty).

I.e., UKPK, PITS, Chaparral, Urban, Pingo

Been carrying this IWB lately. Seems the easiest and least obtrusive way to carry it. :D

IWB only if I really have to (running shorts without pockets or pants with "thin garment floppy pockets")

In my "urban" day to day life IWB does not work at all: Shirt untucked, fleece jacket, maybe down vest, often times hip bag: Knife really not accessible.

By far the most IWB carried is my Chap FRN: Specifically bought it as a light and slim folder that still has acceptable blade length (so longer blade than a DFly for me) to be carried IWB on shorter trail runs in running shorts. Works perfectly, and before you ask: NO, no rust problems whatsoever on the HXP blade..

Sometimes I carry my Pac Salt SE or Endela SE IWB instead of the Chap when trailrunning without a running pack / running vest

I often carry a FRN knife IWB because it's light and easy, but I actually prefer smooth handles for comfort and a lockback for safety. Very often then that's the Endura SS or CaraCara2 SS. The Pacific Salt (not the 2) has a nice texture for IWB carry and is nice and lightweight as well.
