I think Spyderco has the best...

...strength-to-weight ratio in the entire pocket knife industry!

A Pacific Salt SE has been my EDC for over a year now, and I'm constantly impressed with how capable a 3 ounce knife can be. I bought my wife a Dragonfly for EDC and a Spyderhawk for work, and she tells me every few days how awesome they are. My sheepsfoot Caribbean Salt PE can handle everything I throw at it, and it doesn't weigh me down at all. And my Shaman inspires almost fixed blade-like confidence, although it virtually disappears in pocket.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I wanted to give Sal, Eric, and everyone at Spyderco props for achieving an amazing balance between extreme cutting ability and barely-there heft.

Controlled opening of any folding knife.

I have had disks, flippers, holes, and OTF (and assisted and automatic) but have came back to Spyderco (almost exclusively) for several years now. I thought assisted WAS THE BOMB when it first got big. I was lerry of autos (special laws in some places, plus explaining over and over "it's not illegal", etc.) but picked up a couple over the years. I've ended back (in my 50s and retired from LE) back at plain, ole, manual action Spydercos (for the most part.) The hole "tracks" (for me) better throughout the arc of the opening than having to keep my stubby thumb on a disk or worse yet a small thumb stud.

Values and Knives.

Their number one goal is to produce a high quality tool, the revenue/profit is a byproduct of that focus. Their aren't many companies left that take true pride in what they make.

If I'm buying a production knife, it's a Spyderco. I trust and respect their products, above all others.

Some would say "Fan Boy", I say "Intelligent Consumer".
