I simply prefer tip up for all my needs, I just wish more spydercos either had this as an option or sole carrying method.

The only difference it makes to me is that with tip-up carry I can leave a lanyard hanging out to make yanking the knife out of my pocket easier.

Guess I've got to sort through this a bit more, but I'm kinda partial to the tip up. Comes out of the pocket and easy to open. My J.D. Smith is tip down and no other option. I'm gonna have to wear it a bit to figure out how I feel about it at the end of the day ...

Tip up for me but the larger spydies work well for me in tip down.Never been able to really get used to small ones in tip down.

I learn something new everyday, even though I don't want to. Jeff

I carry both. I find tip-down works well for a draw-and-drop, which gives good tip control if you want it(as you can grip pretty much the whole (blade)spine even on the millie from the <img src="spyder.gif" width=15 height=15 align=middle border=0>drop.

tip up works well if I'm going to carry other stuff in the same pocket.

small ones work better in tip up, as they go IWB.

gun con·trol n. definition 1. The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker received that fatal bullet wound. 2. The ability to hit what you are aiming at. 3. The first key step of a corrupt political agenda where good citizens are disarmed so that a dictatorship may replace a democracy in the future.

Both are fine to me. I'd like the knife to ride lower in the pocket, though.
