We do have a number of handle materials in-the-works for the Chaparral.

The Sun/Moon is scheduled for early summer.

Wow! Now this is some awesome news. Praying for a Micarta version.

I know natural materials are very problematic for factory production, but I think some kind of polished bone scales would be amazing!

Hi Andrew,

I have a few prototypes in different polished bone, but the maker said they were too inconsistent to do a run.

Matte Micarta and Cruwear would be my dream Chappie. Any color Micarta is fine, even black, but I do prefer a rougher matte texture rather than polished smooth. Denim Micarta would be interesting. I'd like to see a Spyopera with matte denim Micarta and Sleipner.

I'm excited for this to ship! I have been patient on this and the Para 3 LW SPY27 as I placed the pre-order for both at the same time and am in no rush, so have been waiting for the Para 3 until this one is filled too. Thankfully, I'll get both now. Hopefully it won't take too long for both to be in stock at the same time. I learned my lesson, though. Any preorders from KC are now going to be done on a knife by knife basis.

I like it alot. I like it more than my CF/G10 version. But some knives I don't need more than one of. Chaparral is one of those.

Sometimes I wish I was into off-loading my stock; selling or trading to make room for others. Oh well...

I am super stoked. I've had all the chappy variants at one time or another; the frn is the one that has stuck around in my collection. That said, I love love love the smooth G10 Natives, so very excited for this piece to keep its frn sibling company.

I'll definitely pick this up once it gets into the wild. Still waiting to see someone put it 'in stock' though.

I am excited to try a Chapparal because I haven't owned one before and I really like the theme with this particular design. And it's also a huge plus that this is a regular production knife that I have longer than a three minute window to buy.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

I am sure you'll love it!!!
And will be amazed what a 2mm ffg XHP blade can take (actually every at least remotely sensible knife task) while being a great slicer.
And I hope you'll join the quest for a Chap XL then...

hehehe, we're still on that quest, eh Wart? :D I still dream about an XL Chap now and then, it would tick so many boxes for me it's not even funny.

The thin stock on the Chap is amazingly robust. The lightweight Chap is easily in my top three spydies of all time. It just does everything right.
