Now that I look closer into Watu and Chokwe, I´d also wish they bring back the latter! :)

But: Nothing against the comp.lock (it´s a good one, not arguing that!), but really guys, there are so many comp. lock knives out there to choose from already.
The comp. lock is an alternative but not necessarely an improvement over a good linerlock or in this case integral lock. Both have their pros and cons (and just for me the linerlock "wins" by s slight margin).

So: I really hope at least the liner-/frame lock mid- and higher end Spydies that are already established are there to stay (I am a bit concerned from what I hear about the Millie 2 tbh).

Improving the detent if necessary: Yes, absolutely!
Get rid of liner-/framelock in favor of comp.lock: Please not.
I wouldn’t object to bringing it back the exact same way it was except for a CF front scale, 20CV and the pivot collar. I’m sure any detent issues will be resolved anyway.

Thanks for your reply and understanding! :)

If they do bring back the Chokwe, my preference would be for a compression lock, but if not, at least a steel on steel lock interface.

Whenever I get one of these I will try to see if a short wire clip (df2) will fit on this. I'm assuming there is a larger size wire clip on this knife akin to the Sage or Ikuchi

This one makes me happy for so many reasons.
The origins of design, the practical dimensions, the comp lock (I'm in favor of it), the great blade steel, and especially the charity associated with it!

That last part the most. I remember my last day of school in SA was world AIDS day, they taught us a lot about the disease. You'd think it being in the fourth grade wouldn't be appropriate but I'd disagree. It was so bad in the 90's that everyone needed to know

I'll probably try making my own micarta scales for it. I'm ok with the CF/G10 laminate but i've already got a pair of ruined black jeans that i've used for making knife scales and i think it would be a nice touch.

Seems like the Watu has the potential to be one of the more popular Ethnic series to date. Doesn't seem like any of the predecessors were extremely popular although many have become very collectible now. Maybe the regular Lum would take the number one spot?

The original Persian was probably one of the most popular knives in the Ethnic Series. Popular enough that there was a smaller version, an all G10 with flat grind version, and a Sprint Run version.

The Lum Chinese also spawned the Li'l Lum in two versions, and BHQ did a HAP-40 of both the Chinese and Tanto. To me the Persians and Lum stand above the rest of the ethnic series knives. Well i like the Hungarian and Pattada as well come to think of it :)
