Tom, do you ever use a strop or UF stone? I'm kind of surprised you've had to typically "saw" through cardboard with any steel you've used. Maybe you don't take your sharpening to the next step before leaving the house with said knife?

I find the best thing about a knife is to always have it razor sharp, because you never know when you will need it.
No, I ain't never done no stropin'

As for Sal's comment about the best knife being the one that is there when you need it. I have been reading a book about General Crook and the Apaches in Arizona back in 1868 or so. One fellow had an Apache lasso get tossed over him -- but was able to quickly get his knife in hand and cut the line. Now that is having a knife when you need it! There is nothing like real history written by the people who lived it.

Nothing like a good genocide to get the blood flowing...

Wait, how did we get into this topic?

Well ....if you have to ask.....look at the quotes...it is barely veiled racism. History has many sides. People who write get to write their history. Peoples who talk get to engage in their history.

No matter how rough the night before was........your knife always makes sure you leave the house the next morning with your pants / shorts on! :D

Sorry.....I've got nothing that hasn't already been covered!

What are you even talking about jdw? For goodness sake, all he did was relate an interesting tidbit of history about how a guy saved his life with a knife. That's it.

There's no hate here, subtle or otherwise.

I didn't get it either. We are all just racists I guess... especially those of use who make light out of dark situations/topics!

I laughed at my joke, so I know atleast one person found it funny. Good 'nuf for me!

Nobody was racist. You clearly only saw what you wanted to see and that says more about you than them. Bullying people into erasing and censoring history is something that terrible regimes are known for doing and is a gigantic step backwards for humanity.

The best thing about knives is that you'll never have enough of them.
The worst thing for any knife is sitting in a drawer/safe, catching dust :D

The best thing is the handle, try using one without ;)
This! There are a lot of sharp things that you can use to cut stuff, but they're worthless if you can't hold them!

You got it, Also funny how many people buy a knife by handle colour and go crazy over certain colours when the same model has been there in black for years ;)

I think the Shaman is the signature knife for this statement. Amazing how the standard version went pretty much unnoticed until the exclusives/sprints started to come out. (I'm guilty too though I guess, since I never got one until the 4V and CruCarta were released) :p

Aside from what everyone else has said,
The best thing about a knife is the sound some of them make upon opening. Also best others have is the silence upon deploying.

The look in people's eyes when you flick it open to cut something they were struggling;ing with.

Some people look in fear, some people look in admiration. And then you recognize the knife nuts who look at your blade and you can see them analyzing it's sharpness and style.
Every day in my pockets, Wallet, Keys, Phone, Light, and Knife.
