Remember that SHOT Show 2020 is in Vegas on January 21-24 and I’m sure we’ll hear a lot more from Spyderco this month including the 2020 Product Guide and 2020 Reveal Volume 1.

I never thought 2020 would be the year of the Knife Nazi. :confused:

I'm even more concerned that Spyderco might go Chapter 11 without a dozen or more new Para 3s for 2020. I mean, who even buys that other stuff? Ok I do, but just to balance it all out. No need to get all judgemental. :o

No. I thought that was it though. I got a rescue 3 plus another knife off of one of the blade hq bundles about 6 weeks ago. The rescue 3 knife was a full flat grind, serrated edge, vg10, with black frn. The date code on the box was 2018, and the pamphlet in the box indicated that the rescue 3 switched to a ffg in 2017 or 2018. I wont be sure until I can get home and post back once Im at work. .... But I do know I have a rescue 3, vg10, ffg, black frn, that was prior to 2020.

What’s the product code on your Rescue 3?

The Spyderco website has only one Rescue 3 Lightweight VG-10 SpyderEdge Saber Grind Black FRN with the product code of C14BK3.

That description says saber grind but the picture is of a ffg blade. I'm guessing they updated the pic and not the description.

The new Spyderco 2020 Product Guide has the Rescue3 Lightweight VG-10 SpyderEdge Full Flat Grind (FFG) Black FRN with product code C14SBK3.

The Spyderco website has the Rescue3 Lightweight VG-10 SpyderEdge Saber Grind Black FRN with product code C14BK3.

I'm guessing the 2020 Product Guide is correct and based on VooDooChild's purchase about 6 weeks ago delivered in November 2019.

The new 2020 Spyderco Product Guide does not seem to have any new announcements of Spyderco knives. I guess we'll have to wait for the 2020 Reveal Volume 1 for those.

Those previously announced appear in Post #1 under Upcoming.

The paperwork in the box says...
"Originally produced with a stout, saber grind for maximum strength, in 2017 the Rescue 3's blade was revised to feature a lighter full-flat grind that offers enhanced edge geometry for low-friction cutting performance."
