Ah so this is referencing a coating technique and not the material?

Is it food safe? Lots of other manufacturers make colorful coated blades but they are not food safe.

If judging this release like the prior Para 3 version this PM2 will be the hottest and hardest to get release of the decade.

Thought the same thing. I'm counting 5 different colors without accounting for the cutting edge/grind. Hardware, liners, g10, blade coating, and then the laser etching/symbols. This reminds me when I used to hop into Pontiac vehicles in the 90's. They were so busy with different mats and colors, it felt like I was at a carnival. Will probably take a peak at one at the 2nd sale though.

for me, the ratios of colors are quite nice. You've got wide areas of the main colors, and little pops of the accent colors. Definitely interested in a Shaman version.

Does anyone here have any info or an educated guess on the chances/timeframe of a Sage 5 LW coming in all black dlc? Or other colors than the standard black handle?

After some research this seems to be the perfect knife for me, but I’d like something a bit less plain if possible :D

There is nothing official at this time, but Sal has mentioned that both the LW Sage and the LW Chaparral potentially opened the door for different steels and colors. Right now the closest you will get is the DLC Para3 LW. I was hoping the Sage5 LW would have dropped in the same gray FRN color as the Chaparral.

Thanks! Happy to hear there seem to be coming other Sage 5 LW versions, although it’s still not very certain and there’s no timeframe. The DLC para3 LW indeed was/is another good contender. Size is comparable and deployment/locking mechanism seems great on the para3 as well. I prefer the blade shape on the Sage and what I heard in reviews was that the construction of the Sage seems to be a little bit better, as well as the blade steel. On the other hand the para 3 is lighter.

Maybe it comes down to how long I’m willing to wait. Only good knife I have now is a green Zome Dragonfly vg10 and I’d like something a little bigger with a different locking mechanism and better steel.

Sorry for going so off-topic!

8 spydies have been delivered in January, 10 in February. Seems like a slow start - but then again, when are we ever satisfied with the pace and quantity?

Oh great RamZar, if it's not too much trouble, could you dig up the respective numbers from 2019 and 2018 maybe?
