What is your Last Spydie of the year before price hikes in 2020?

Well here we are 2020 is almost upon us and prices are going up.

What will be your final purchase for 2019?

As for me I just purchased the Soyderco Jumpmaster2.

I need a good fixed blade knife for the kitchen that is powerful.

Last week I spatchcocked a 15 pound turkey and despite all the videos discussing how hard it it to cut the spine from the turkey my H1 Pacific Salt did it with ease!

So I have been thinking after cooking a 15 pound bird in 1 hour and 5 minutes and how well it turned out there will be more spatchcocking in the future to include chicken as well.

What could possibly be better than a fixed blade Spydie edge in Super tough H1? Honestly bones do not stand a chance!

Well the good news is Sal said 99% of the prices are staying the same.

For myself there is a few boxing week sales on that are tempting me. One of them is the Civilian, which is about 2/3 the regular price here. For some reason I kind of always wanted one. The other is the Amalgam.

I have an Amalgam out for delivery today. And then a Battlestation (obviously not from a retailer) on the way tomorrow.

I think his "prices are staying the same" meant that MSRP isn't increasing. MAP (minimum advertised pricing), on the other hand, is going up, so the end consumer will end up paying more, even though MSRP is the same.

I really wish I could have just bought them all in 2013.
Anyone have a record of the previous increases

Correct, that is my understanding as well. "prices" for Spyderco (i.e. MSRP) are staying the same despite cost of manufacturing and production going up (read: Spyderco is taking a financial hit for not increasing their price). However, MAP is changing from 35% off to 30% off to help support their distribution network of independent retailers, which will help the individual businesses, but means the cost to the end-line user is going up.

Wow, haven't been here in awhile. I did just buy an Endura ZDP-189, the Endura being my favorite model. Haven't received it yet.

Would have liked to have gotten a Military C36.

Had nothing to do with prices. My last Spydie of the year was the SSS (straight spine stretch).

The C95 I picked up will be my last Spyderco of the year.

Scored another Leatherman PST2 off ebay that's in the mail.

I really thought I was done but I think I might get a couple more today. Aqua salt and something else.

I bought an Aqua Salt SE and a G10 Police 4. I may or may not order an Ikuchi and Waterway later this evening if I remember and can find them in stock somewhere.

I missed Sal saying this. Can you cite the post?

A Maxamet PM2 is my last 2019er, and my last for a while, less because of some price-hike, more because I went Spydie-mad in 2019.

I thought my last was a Military in CTS 204p, until i got shipping notification of my Maxamet PM2 preorder from Knifecenter on Friday 27th (preordered in July and pretty much wrote it off). Delivered yesterday and rounded off a good year.

Decided to get this one (scales from the Cruwear delica) and a CE manix before the prices go up. But really, I didn't need the excuse to get more spyderedged knives - I'm loving them!
