FB05 Temp: now thats a knife!

Post by vampyrewolf »

I just got this baby in the mail... sweet... think it's supossed to be a tactical kitchen knife or something.

Quick review, will post more when I get home tomorrow from a day of use.

Handle: can we say "glove"? It's a very strange thing to find a handle that actually works for me. Could use a small dent for the meat on the base of the thumb, but thats it. Indexing holes make a nice grip for my index and middle finger in forward grip.

Blade: What can I say? big wide belly, flat grind vg-10, factory edge...

fit/finish: usual spydie quality. spine could use a little bit of smoothing on the spine, not rounding or a swedge(ala dragonfly), just taking the corner edge off. I can sandpaper that easy enough if it bugs me.

The theory that a woman found dead in an alley, raped and strangled with her pantyhose, is somehow morally superior to a woman explaining to police how her attacker received that fatal bullet wound. 2. The ability to hit what you are aiming at. 3. The first key step of a corrupt political agenda where good citizens are disarmed so that a dictatorship may replace a democracy in the future.

I'm getting a sheath done for it still... it's not a sleeping sheath like the one I have on the fb03.

looking at it, think this would be ideal for a convex edge... vg-10 will excell with either a course edge or a polished edge... my 800grit 20(inclusive)/30(double grind) edge on the c52 throws hair. Take this puppy to a convex 800 sandpaper *wipes drool off desk, changes keyboard*...

Just made supper... chicken stirfry. yep, it's a kitchen knife.

Gotta love 4+ inches of VG-10! Love my Perrin, cuts like crazy.
Patrick how is the sheath on the Temp? I find the Perrin sheath a little to be desired...not the most sturdy or secure, don't get me wrong it is better than some I have seen/used but I think I might opt to get a custom sheath down the road.

Craig> as I stated in my last post here, I'm getting a custom done (month end I think), just asking eric about time and price...

I had a sleep on the couch yesterday with it on, and it didn't come out at all, but thats not blankets moving and me rolling. Had a guy at work pull it out while I was working today(both of us in packing at the time, he just wanted to see it cut plastic). This may as well be a drop-in sheath.

might see if eric can toss a secondary restraint on it...

aaah! the Temperance FB! What a sweet knife! If you love the Calypso, this one's a definite winner! Love the ergos, blade geometry and excellent cutting edge! At camp, the Temperance FB served me very well as an all-round utility knife! Its ability to slice and cut while retaining an edge for a long time won admirations from many folks who had seen this knife in action.. Good pick VW!
