Can someone with a Native 5 FRN help out??

#1

Post by flasharry »

Hi All..
As I posted in Sal's design lift thread:
" What I'd really love is a deep carry clip that would fit my L'il Native lockback.. That knife is a perfect size for me. I tried taking the clip off,and had carried it in pocket without the clip.. and the G10 wore holes in my jeans pockets where it rubbed on the cloth... a deep carry clip would really make me happy.. (Or if I can find some nice soft leather, may see if a pocket slip could be run up) "
and got a reply from ugaarguy as folows:

"I'm pretty sure the Lil' Native back lock uses the same screw pattern as the Native 5 FRN. If that's true, then MXG gear makes a clip for you - https://mxggear.com/collections/native-5-frn. "

Could someone who has a Native 5 FRN please measure the clip screw spacing for me? That would give me something to work with to see if the suggested clip would be doable.. Its the bottom 2 screws on the clip I need the distance for..

Thanks
HArold

I'm not near my calipers right now, but I'm see what I can do when I get home if someone hasn't answered yet. I'm 90% sure I've read somewhere that the Lil lockback has the same clip pattern as the native 5 lw.

Looks like 11mm maybe a hair less between the bottom holes on my native 5 lw

Thanks Mate
Thats about what I get on the L'il Native.. Will order the clip and see how it goes - worst case, perhaps a wee bit of fettling..
Cheers

In decimal, I get .325" between the close holes, and .425" between the far ones.

Confirmed!
The MXG Gear deep carry clip for the Native 5 FRN fits the L'il Native Lockback perfectly! - only caveat is to use the original L'il Native screws, the MXG gear ones are a tad to long.

Looking good.

Also reminds me that I've been meaning to pick up a lil native back lock...
