I Might Just...

Have the coolest son ever.

He sent me a Spyderco Street Bowie for Christmas overseas, which I am now carrying weak side under my gun belt.

He knows me well, and I love him dearly, for he is an outstanding young man in every measure.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

Hi Reference_Sensor,

Thanx for your service.

Also for a very important value; "Appreciation" that the world needs more of. As mentioned, I'm sure his parents had something to do with him being the coolest son ever.

My family's dinner prayer is:

"Thank you Lord, for one more day. All together in good health, and thank you for giving us the wisdom to take the time to appreciate our good fortune and share some happy thoughts".

Then we go around the table sharing good thoughts for the day that made us smile. A good way to begin a meal.

I love this. There's so much focus on the negative in this world that we often lose sight of all the good. Very good to have an intentional ritual like yours that bring us back to the positive.

Hi JuPaul,

Never thought of it as a ritual, but that's exactly what it is.

I still think , like Conner, that appreciation of your son, like Reverence_Sensor is saying, is a great gift in itself, in addition to the gift of the knife. A pleasant memory to last a lifetime.
