MBC Training Opportunity

To all:

Just a reminder that there are still slots open in the July MBC Level 1-3 courses at the Spyderco Headquarters in Golden, CO. The courses are scheduled for July 18-20, respectively and will present comprehensive instruction in the basic skills of defensive knife use in both the standard and reverse grips, high-speed knife deployment, and a wide variety of reflex training drills. Students may choose to participate in Level 1 only, Levels 1 and 2, or, for the best value, Levels 1-3. Level 1 includes a free Spyderco training knife (a $70.00 value) and an armguard. Level 2 includes a live blade to match your trainer (also a $70.00) value, and Level 3 includes a comparable special gift (to be determined).

To register, go to the Spyderco home page, click on "Recent Events," then click on the "View Events Calendar" link at the bottom of the page. You can also register by calling 303-279-8613, ext. 106.

This is an outstanding opportunity to learn the critical skills of defensive knife use in one intense 3-day program. For more information on the MBC curriculum, check:

and for some examples of MBC training action, take a look at the images below.

Stay safe,

Hey Mike,

What are you using for armguards these days?
Good seeing you at Blade.

Dear Gavin:

Nice seeing you at Blade as well.

After lots of searching and too much sewing, I finally found an off-the-shelf neoprene compression thigh wrap that works great as an armguard. The neoprene provides a dense cushion and fits tightly without slipping around. Life is good.

Mike,
I would like to audit the Level 2 Class on the 19th. Unfortunately, I have to work on the 18th and 20th. Do I need to pre-register to attend? I am not sure how many of the original Larimer County Group are coming with me, but I passed the word. Meanwhile, I am looking forward to another training opportunity. See you on the 19th.

Dear Clyde:

Thanks for the post.

Yes, it would be best if you pre-register so the Spyderco hosts can plan properly for the food and drinks. We wouldn't want anyone to go hungry...

See you there.

Stay safe,
