Four pockets, Four blades

#1

Post by JohnAPA »

Right front pocket is Yojimbo 2, purpose -dedicated MBC knife

Right rear pocket is Ikuchi, a working knife that trims steak and vegetables like no other ( and backs up YO2 in a pinch)

Left front pocket is Autonomy 2, primarily a large working knife and an MBC back-up knife that can be accessed weak hand and opened easily. Cuts up boxes like a champ

Left rear pocket is Baby Jess Horne, this is a gentlemen's folder that I never know is there, yet I can fit three fingers on the stock, it locks up tight as a drum due to full liners. It is VG-10 steel and will perform cutting tasks more suitable to a larger knife. Cutting strings off clothes, finger nail stuff, letters and, you know, small stuff.

All of these knives are clipped to the rear of each pocket on my 511 pants, on the out-board side. When I sit, stand, run away, they are completely unobtrusive. I don't feel that they are there when walking around or sitting in my Lazyboy watching HBO.

Lord help you if you ever get tru-specs

Front pockets, rear pockets, dedicated knife & flashlight pockets between the front and back pockets, then cargo pockets with an internal divider giving them two internal pockets, with a mini cargo pocket stictched to each full sized one.

That's 14 good spots to clip a knife :D

I like those for work, they're very comfortable. Usually have a fixed blade on my belt and a Leatherman clipped to one of the inner cargo pockets. The pocket knife pocket is a little too narrow for most Spydercos, but I bet an Ikuchi would fit perfectly.

Not counting multi-tools I have sixteen blades on me at the moment. That's actually light for me.

Paging Dr. Snubnose, paging Dr. Snubnose.

I think if you say "how many knives can I carry at once" 3 times while looking in a mirror it summons him.

Not much to see, really. LH PM2 clipped to RFP, Maxamet PM2 clipped to LFP, P4 clipped to each back pocket and a Wharncliffe Endura reground into a Wharncliffe clipped to the right cargo pocket. Everything else is loose in the bottoms of pockets. The 8OT stockman and F Hartkopf half-whittler double the number of blades to 10, throw in a couple of Microtechs and a few Ken Coats customs and you get to sixteen pretty quickly.

I no longer think it’s weird I used to carry a waved Endura on each side

At work I carry at least 4 cutting tools at all times: (1) A serrated Manbug that lives on my keyring; (2) my work knife—usually a Native 5, Salt 2, or Delica 4—in my right front pocket; (3) a Leatherman Skeletool CX with a 154CM knife blade (I carry the Skeletool mainly for the pliers & wirecutter); and (4) a pair of Leatherman Raptor folding medical shears in my belt-mounted occupational first aid attendant kit.

On non-work days I usually get by with just the Manbug or a Dragonfly 2 or a Li'l Native for "convenience cutting" tasks but I will occasionally carry something more interesting like a Yojimbo 2 or an Introvert or a Karahawk if the mood strikes me.
