Any thoughts for a name?

I wish they would use some version of the Pro-Venator name again.

Oh boy I missed this thread the first time. Love the Stretch 2. I might be interested in this Xtended Stretch depending on how faithful the handle ergos are. If the handle isn't *that* much bigger than the Stretch 2 I can see myself getting one. I'd also vote for the drop point blade. Or at least one as an option and before Warnstein says it, be nice to see a SE option.

How about a Perception?

Some people percept that original Stretch 2 was a bit smaller, so why not called this longer model a Perception?

For me naming the knife depends a lot on what it will finally look like:

- If it keeps the lines of the Stretch 2 as much as possible, I figure a name like "Stretch XL" would actually be appropriate. Not very creative, I know, but I think in that case people who like the Stretch 2 (but maybe find it a bit too small) should realize immediately even just by reading that there is a new model out hat it essentially a bigger Stretch.

- If it will be more like a different model, just based on the Stretch, a totally new name would be better imho
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

One thing that I personally would like to see in a "stretched Stretch":

- A handle that is not too much longer than in the current Stretch 2 (so just offering a bit longer grip area for really big hands and of course being long enough to just house the longer blade)
- A blade that is as long as possible relative to the handle (so - different to the current Stretch 2 - a blade that totally really extends to the end of the handle when the knife is closed (the Stretch 1 actually is designed like this))

Why?: I think in such big (4") folders a closed size as compact as possible is a good thing, cause too long packages can get awkward in carry.

"Extension" or "Extend"
One of the other synonyms perhaps.

I'm really excited to see a Stretch XL. I started carrying a SS Stretch regularly pretty recently and have been eyeing some longer Spydies for my collection. Was thinking about grabbing a new K390 police LW but with the new Stretch XL upcoming I may wait a bit. Or just buy both which is probably more likely 😂

National Knives still has the Straight Spine Stretch Ivory Sprint Run in stock FYI. I think it is sold out pretty much everywhere else.

I prefer the SS Stretch to the Paramilitary 2 by a wide margin. Better ergos, better lock, more sensible blade stock. In VG10 it is a great knife; in Cruwear or K390 would be a world beater.

Very well said! SS Stretch is also a bit lighter than the PM2 and has chamfered (FRN) scales (and not blocky G10).

The big stretch is going to be even better than a Manix 2 XL.

Agreed. I'm really getting into longer blades lately, but the longer closed packages make it even trickier to carry in women's pockets. An endura/pac salt will still barely fit in a few of my front pockets or comfortably iwb, but a millie has to go in my back pockets. Much bigger closed and it wouldn't fit there, either. I don't generally care about blade-to-handle ratio in smaller knives, but in a really big knife it matters more to me.
