Waterway sheaths don't fit at all

#1

Post by Backtonature »

I just received two brand new waterways and neither of the sheaths fit. The knife mold the sheath was made with is for a shorter blade with an upsweep and a thicker handle. I've seen pics of waterways with correct fitting sheaths then I looked on Spyderco's website and the stock photo waterway doesn't fit in the sheath the same way as mine don't. I thought that was super odd so I wanted to bring it to y'all's attention.

Weird. I bet some boxes got mislabeled. You would think whoever took those pictures would have caught that.

Is that the sfo boltaron sheath for the bow river?

Hi, Backtonature:
Welcome to our forum. I'm sorry for the challenges that you are experiencing. That does appear to be a mix-up with a different sheath. Our Warranty & Repair team has received your e-mail and will reply to you today with the resolution. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Was going to say those look exactly like the Bow River boltaron sheaths.

Does this mean there are other Waterways currently packaged with Bow River sheaths?

Those look like they may belong with a Bow River.

Oh yeah y'all have great customer service! I just decided to post it because in my research I saw the same issue on the stock photo on the Spyderco website. I was just curious to see if anyone else had the same issue and I wouldn't want anyone trying to use the wrong sheath and lose their knife because of it haha

You're going to have to order a couple of Bow River's now ;)

The actual Waterway sheaths are very well done. I think you'll approve when you get the right ones.. No doubt, Spyderco will make it right for you.

Hi, Backtonature:
I wanted to quickly follow-up on your comment regarding the image on our site. The correct sheath is pictured.

Again, we apologize for the mix-up with your sheaths. Make it a good day!

Hey guys, I just received my Waterway and it looks like mine also came with the Bow River sheath. Have emailed Spyderco customer service already but I thought it might be helpful to add another data point. The date code on the box is JS it looks like.
