Are you done with 2019, Spydie wise? What do you wish for in 2020?

Didn't want to hijack Vivi's thread.

I for my part am done with growing my collection for this year. It was a good year. Scratched off quite a good number of steels, and found at least two super Spydies that match my preferences oh so well: the Smock with its discrete flipper, and the Para 3 with CF scales. Wasn't really thinking I could come to 30 this year. Now there are 32! :D

2020 will hopefully bring the Military 2, more M390 / 3V / 4V spydies at obtainable numbers and prices, oh and more Maxamet models, please. Plus one or maybe two new steels. Sal and Co., please continue to do your magic! :)

I just wish I'll be loaded when the opportunities arise...

I can't think of any knives I'll be getting this month. Probably will get around to ordering some new DMT's though.

2020 I plan to sell off about half my collection. I've discovered what works best for me, time to let the excess go.

As far as new knives, I'm looking forward to the Swick 5 and Siren. Plan to pick up both. Aside from that I'll wait and see what surprises they have in store.

Stink No!!! (What you talkin' about Willis?) Still 31 days to go. Can probably pick up another 50 Spydies before the year is over!!! Not even thinking of 2020 for another 31 days, at that time I'll give up trying to purchase Spydies in 2019 ... :spyder: :spyder: :spyder: :)

For 2019? In spite of my excesses, I’ve spotted one or two aftermarket targets of opportunity I may be unable to resist.

For 2020? I’m hoping for far fewer enticing models, just so I can be virtuous.

ETA: Yep, I was unable to resist the “Mini” Manix.

I'm all done for 2019. To be honest, I can't really think of a folding knife I will get in 2020. The last thing I want is a large collection of knives that don't get used. I'm an office drone, so there are not many reasons to use a knife during the workday. Plus, I live in the Boston area, which has some pretty restrictive knife laws. I tend to like knives a bit bigger than 2.5 inches, so I'm not inclined to spend more money on knives I don't really love. My Urban in AEB-L is a great knife, I don't really want to give up carrying that thing. Having said all that, I am sure that Spyderco will release a knife that really gets my attention. The SS Stretch certainly was one. The more I hear about the new Caly LW, the more I like what it could be. I am sure I'll be real tempted to get that one too. But, like the SS Stretch, I'll probably pass. It makes the most sense to get one of the new Spyderco/Carter kitchen knives. So that's the knife I'll probably end up with next year.

Swick 5, cuz it's weird as all **** and I like it.
Maybe a Caly LW.... depends on price.
I want to see a back lock Caribbean (not going to happen) or some CBBL big folder.....again, low hopes that is going to be a real thing.

Besides the unlikely chance of getting a knife as a gift 2019 is a wrap for me.

I forgot: I'm definitely gonna get a Serrata. That's 100% for sure. And I'm SO looking forward to this big piece of metal! :D

Oh, and pleeeeeeeease Sal, don't stop bringing out G10 models with visible steel liners completely.......

Probably done in the last month or so purchased a Smock, a Caly 3.5 inch and 2 SS Stretches.

Anyone on the fence about the SS Stretch Sprint run just really needs to do themselves a favor and get one this is not one to miss.

Oh and Hey Bloke last night I made a pot of Spaghetti Sauce with my SS Stretch..... ;)

I'm done for 2019 unless the Lil Chokwe or Swayback drops magically. But those are my must buys for 2020.

Probably not. Still looking to pick up a CE Endura soon. And might grab a black/satin SE Pac Salt while they are still around.

Will also get a Dodo if they drop at BHQ this year. And any other surprises in Cruwear, 4V, Micarta, GITD, Teal, etc!

Military 2, pacific ffg, lil chokwe.... should be quite a great year !

It’s quite amazing to see that there is such a few releases before Christmas. Spyderco is taking care of our children by saving us some money to get them decent Christmas presents :-D

I sharpen a number of knives for friends who are to varying degrees into knives or just knife users, they're all typically rust buckets living here on the coast. If the Siren drops in time for Christmas delivery (and before I buy other gifts) I'll be picking up half a dozen.

2020 wishes... Jester Salt, Serrated Siren, combo edge Carribean, Lil' Native Salt, LC200N Police, Ayoob Sprint.

Still really want someone to produce an alternative clip option for small Spydies utilizing the lanyard hole. Or just a CQI version of the Dragonfly with the clip moved closer to the end.

Other than waiting for a ss stretch, probably.
But of course it will be pointed out that prices will be raised in the new year and its last chance at these prices, and you never know.

I have my eye on a couple still, so I can't say for sure whether or not I'm done with buying Spydies for the year. I think chances are that I'm not done buying Spydies this year. :p

There's a lot I hope to see in 2020, but off the top of my head I know I want to see the Jester make its triumphant return and I still want to see a Rookie sprint run in K390.

99% of my current purchases are second hand so I'm never sure if I'm done adding to my collection for the year. Currently looking for a PE Atlantic Salt or saber-ground british racing green E4/D4.

For 2020 I'm excited for the new Pacific Salt.

Chances are bad the Para 3 LW all black arrives in the next few weeks.
So that's it for 2019.

2020: hopefully some special steels Para 3 LW will be available.
Lil chokwe might be bought.
Hoping for some surprise of the Spyderco team.
