Project Updates

#1

Post by vivi »

I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread for project updates, instead of making new ones for every model.

Make a post about models you're curious about, and anyone that is aware of the latest info for that model can link it here. If we're real lucky, maybe Sal can chime in once in a while. I can list all mentioned models in the first post to make it an easy thread to reference.

I'll start us off with a few I'm following:

Man. Here’s hoping for the Pac Salt 2 in LC200n to come out before summer 2020.

I always take my pac salt on vacation with me and use it extensively fishing and diving. Would love to use the new one this coming year!

Vivi, I honestly don´t know excatly from what and to which point something would be called a "project".

What comes to my mind first:
Sal mentioned, that the whole Endura family will come out in K390 and dark blue (? - I think?) scales. If that happens, I´ll get an Endela PE (since I "only" have it in SE) and most likely also an Endura.

Next thing would be the G10 sun and moon Chaparral
Don´t know if that is a "project" anymore or already in a more realistic stage, but anyway:
Sal mentioned, it would come out "in the first quarter of 2020"
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=84056&start=100
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

The Amsterdam Meetup thread is usually a good place to see annual updates and informal announcements for prototypes (especially collaborations), but the sprint runs and alternates of main-line models don't tend to be featured there as much.

Not sure it's worth making a list based on what's been in the meetup thread over the last to years...

How about BBB’s collaboration with Spyderco on his own folder design?

Hopefully it isn't as far out as I'm guessing. Would be favorably impressed if we saw it in 2020.

I think lots of us are eager for this one. It will be super high performance.

Couldn't find the discussions on those. If anyone gets me a link I'll add them.

Did Sal mention the Lil Native slipjoint recently? I see this one brought up often but seem to recall mention of the idea being scrapped in favor of the two current versions. I'm guessing the remaining hope for the slipjoint version comes from the initial prototype picture we saw of the three Lil Natives. I very well could have missed a recent post on it though.

Great thread Vivi.

It would be nice if you updated post #1 going forward. That way one does not have to scroll through all the other posts.

Thank you.

That's the plan. Hunting down Military 2 info is what gave me the idea to compile this info in one place.
