I usually just make my own out of 1/4" aluminum.
Some of these may look familiar.

Those are pretty cool! Nice work! Are you training for Zombie Apocalypse with that Schempp Rock trainer or what???
I dunno about apocalypses but I can take down a box like nobody's business. I practice my box breakdown techniques every day. This way I'm not wasting cardboard.

These trainer knives puzzle me, besides ones that open in a odd way, or a ballisong. What are people doing with a Native, if it's not sharp? If a Native needs a trainer, then it seems like any knife in the world needs a trainer model. I wouldn't think of a Native out of all models to need to be a trainer. Not to mention these "fake knives" are pretty expensive. I've never been able to wrap my head around these things. I'm not trying to sound rude or ignornant, I'm just honestly clueless about the purpose other than a ballisong.
Go take a Filipino Martial Arts (FMA) class. You may see it advertised as Arnis or Kali. Why a Native trainer? It's probably Spyderco's third most popular back lock after the Delica and Endura. The Delica's grip is vastly different than the Nativr 5's grip, in my hands. There's a Delica trainer, and an Endura trainer. I want a Native 5 LW trainer so I can train with what I carry.

I've settled on the Native 5 LW because it fits my hand far better than a Delica, it addresses issues I've had with the Delica, Endura, and every other Spyderco I've owned with steel liners. The Native family has been around for a long time, and it doesn't look to be going anywhere. The Native 5 / 5 LW is legal everywhere that a Delica is, but it's more robust than the Delica.

I think it would be cool if they did a run of trainer blades that you could just swap into a LW handle.

I would instantly buy a Native 5 trainer. I have a Delica and a Delica trainer but I prefer the Lightweight Native 5 for carry and always thought it would make a great self-defense knife in a pinch. I hope Spyderco comes through on this.
