Slightly off topic.

Here's my dilemma, I have the opportunity to choose between a slab Ti or fluted Ti Military at a very inexpensive price. Which do I get?

Either one I get will be getting a blade swap quite quickly.

The fluted is so pretty, but the slab sided one matches the Military's tough design...

Decisions, decisions!

The Fluted has additional contouring that makes it melt in the hand.

Did anyone else examine theirs ... I'd be very pissed if they charged me 279+ for a return :(

I'm hoping I can send mine back and they just replace the screws, as I really like the knife itself and imagine they dont have any others on hand anymore. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Mines perfect. Got it in the mail yesterday. Maybe slightly uneven bevels, but I don’t think I’ve got a spydie that’s ever been even on both sides. But it has perfect centering and lock up. Zero play open or closed. Great F&F.

Marius, mine seems to be good. No flaws on the titanium or CF scales. Well centered. A bit of a burr left behind on the edge which is otherwise well ground, even and sharp.

Detent is fairly strong which makes it a bit less smooth (and easy) opening compared to the regular liner lock Militaries.

Locks up solid. I can induce a bit of movement if I go out toward the tip and try to wiggle with a bit of force, but not near the tang.

It doesn't appear to be a second or return. No marks on the screws, pivot, etc.

This is after an inspection of a few minutes.

Glad to hear yours are in good shape, especially at that price! I've never returned a knife, replacing stripped screws seems like an easy fix...I just hope they don't try to say there's no proof I didn't do it myself

Great piece, almost legendary in fact, and I'm glad you snagged one, but jeez that's a little pricey!

I believe that’s what the plain Ti/s30v model cost when it came out...

As were the recent carbon fiber / S90v Shaman...and the Ti / CF S90v Military (originally).

I justified my purchase via the proceeds from other transactions which brought the price down to less than the prior sale on this model. It all works out in the end. Just a convoluted way of getting there.

Well dang...I'm just a weak so and so. Couldn't help adding a 204P version today via a private sale on bf.

That should hold me for a while.

Got my 204P model in today...love the color of the scales, the very evenly ground bevels, BUT...its clearly a return. It's a bit off center, so I went to adjust the pivot screws...one of them is already stripped and scratched a bit on the outside of the screw. I'm not very happy about this

For $200, I expected a brand new knife. Knifeworks will be receiving a call Monday.
Any followup info after reaching out?

I wasn't able to make a call today, had 4 hours of meetings and then played catchup afterwards.

I did send an email around noon today, but haven't received a response yet.

Keep us posted, Rick. BTW, I had a roommate in college named Rick from Syracuse. (But that was way back in the 70's).

Funny coincidence, not me though! I was born in 1983.

Hopefully yours is as it should be. Really is a sweet knife though, love that shade of green. I want to use it. But don't want to chance not being able to have my issue resolved. Expensive couple days for you!

The images of the knife and the reputation of the seller lead me to believe it should be a good example. Thanks for the good thoughts.

Hope you get your matter resolved quickly.

I'm locking my credit cards up in the gun safe. I think I've scratched my current itches. :p

I recieved my reply from KnifeWorks. They said they don't have replacement parts and that I would have to go through Spyderco. They would trade the knife with another, but they don't have any others left in stock.
