Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Had to snag the S90V Military. Should've grabbed one last year when they were blowing them out for $199 but I just didn't bother for some reason.
Since then it was an itch I've wanted to scratch, so thanks for alerting us to the availability.
I was actually disappointed yesterday when I saw it was the 204P version rather than S90V.
Well, now I'm a little lighter in the pocket but satisfied that I grabbed the one I wanted. (And I still had a 5% off coupon from them I hadn't used, so it saved me a few bucks.)

Just got a backup myself. This is the Millitary to end all Millitaries IMO. I was so frustrated for not being smart enough to purchase two when they were readily available... now I'm a happy camper. Thanks for the heads-up guys !

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Ti/CF is the best version of the Military out there IMHO, with somehow only a 0.2oz penalty over the G10 version. I did a blade swap and tapped it for tip up.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
The Ti/G-10 M4 version from Knifeworks is my all-time favorite Military, mostly because of how much work my brother and I successively put into thinning it out to make it a slicing monster.

I have a bunch of Military variants and this is one of the best.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
This is my absolute favorite knife too (a picture of mine will be in next year's calendar :) ) Somehow I ended up with three of them. I was worried about losing or breaking one and not being able to find a replacement. I might of had Spyder fever at the time, but I am glad to have two backups!

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
I would be interested in buying one and converting it to tip up as well.
I only have a hand drill. I wonder if that would work?

This is one knife I regret not getting. At $279 I can honestly pass without worry.
Otherwise it looks nice!

I imagine these dribbles result from discoveries made during KW’s move to its new location.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
You definitely want a drill press, even if it's just a $50 Harbor Freight one like mine. You may be able to get it done by hand, but it takes a good amount of force to drill Ti and you will cook the bit if it isn't being actively cooled.
Drill underwater (in tupperware), use #48 drill (not #50 or you may break the tap), 2-56 Tap, use tapping lubricant of course.
If you do a G10 or CF liner lock Military rather than Ti, it's super easy using "EZ Lok 240-002-BR, 2-56 Flush Press Insert, Brass" and a 1/8" drill. A hand drill still isn't recommended, but it would be much easier than Ti.
Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Just received the Ti/CF Military S90V. Now I see what all the hoopla was about.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
I would say blued fluted ti. If s30v isn't good enough could always do a blade swap.
I can never post pics cause size to big. Plus, it's buried in the safe. Ohh, I also have the full cf and cf/ti. So, do have them to compare with each other.
Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Got my 204P model in today...love the color of the scales, the very evenly ground bevels, BUT...its clearly a return. It's a bit off center, so I went to adjust the pivot screws...one of them is already stripped and scratched a bit on the outside of the screw. I'm not very happy about this
For $200, I expected a brand new knife. Knifeworks will be receiving a call Monday.

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
I'm sorry to read this. I wondered if that might be a possibility. I haven't examined my Ti/CF S90V version closely yet as I've had other things on the menu...but I will do so at first opportunity. Hopefully, others will chime in here if there are any issues.TkoK83Spy wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2019 6:48 pmGot my 204P model in today...love the color of the scales, the very evenly ground bevels, BUT...its clearly a return. Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
Slightly off topic.
Here's my dilemma, I have the opportunity to choose between a slab Ti or fluted Ti Military at a very inexpensive price. Which do I get?
Either one I get will be getting a blade swap quite quickly.
The fluted is so pretty, but the slab sided one matches the Military's tough design...
Decisions, decisions!

Re: Knifeworks Exclusive Military Restock
I personally prefer the slab. As you said, it matches the toughness you think of in the Military. I just can't get into the fluted look. All I think of is a seashell.
