5oz is heavy?
No idea, I wear my watches 24/7 and some are on bracelets around 5-6oz. I rarely even notice the weight.

I'm confused. Everyone seems to love the Shaman, which is also 5.2 oz. and has the exact same blade length. The Emphasis is even a little longer than the Shaman in overall length. 5.2 oz seems fine to me. It's a large folding knife.
If this were Cruwear and Micarta, and weighed 10 oz., you wouldn't find a single complaint!

I've never found the weight of a knife to be an issue. I honestly never even check the weight when buying one.

I prefer carrying a somewhat hefty knife like the original Kris/Persian, Sage 4, LionSpy, Mamba, etc. over lightweights.
Long story short, I'm probably getting one (Efficient hasn't arrived yet, so don't have any baseline yet).
A tiger has claws.
A wolf has teeth.
An eagle has talons.
We, have Spyderco.
