Functional and non functional mods

#1

Post by Kevinim82 »

I’ve roamed a little of google and have seen to a few Spyderco knife hacks. I was wondering wondering if people would share their functional hacks and their non functional ones. *I am sorry if this is a reposted thread, I am a new member and looked for a few minutes to see if this thread existed.

Functionally I wanted a deep carry clip for my new Delica, and picked an MXG clip. It almost matches the gold lock bar of this Delica 4 in SG2 steel. After installing the clip I noticed the FRN grabbing aggressively to my pants. I mixed up some two part epoxy and after drying, I sanded it down to a smooth surface. Now the Delica has a way easier time in and out of my pocket, and I didn’t have to buy a pair of flytanium scales to appreciate the engineering of the MXG clip.

Non functionally I etched the blade for half a day in 2% vinegar to show off the steel cladding a little.

Also non functionally I wanted to distract from my crappy epoxy sanding job and found my wife’s gold nail polish.

Was never a space cadet, but with LC200N I might be more in space than a cadet.
