Blade tip repair

I bought a second hand multitool online. The tip of the s30v blade is dull. It’s not real obvious visually but it is very dull. I wonder if it’s worth trying my sharpmaker, or a flat stone? I don’t have much experience re-profiling. Any advice? I’ll probably order a new blade if I can find one. I guess it can’t hurt to try at this point.

Check out this video from BamaKnifeGuy heres the link

He shows how he repaired a socom elite with major damage. If your tip damage is as small as I think, you definitely dont need to waste money on another blade. Good luck.

Tape a piece of sandpaper to a counter or work bench and grind the spine down until your tip is pointy again. I’ve done it many, many times.

I was gonna suggest doing this on a stone (I’ve done it a whole bunch), but I like the idea of using sandpaper since it’s more disposable and you won’t have to worry about wear.

Basically any time a tip is super messed up I turn it into a ‘reverse tanto.’

Thanks sir. I’m sure it will. I started on it last night. It’s almost “there”. I want near perfection of course. I love the SM. It’s saved me a lot of money and produced the sharpest edges I’ve ever seen in person.
