Did you get a comparison of any golden-made m390? Just curious.

No sorry I'm not sure about any of the Golden models. I do know he said this was the lowest M390 Delica he has tested so far lol Not sure how many he has done but if this was the lowest then I don't think anyone has anything to worry about because they were still great numbers.

Well I dearly love M390 blade steel and I'm on pins and needles waiting for my M390 Military model to be released from the Spyderco Emergency Room there in beautiful downtown GOLDEN.CO
I've been using that M390 MILITARY model for my main EDC for over 3 years now and it's going to take a real blockbuster of a blade steel for me to move on to another anytime soon.
Actually I would love to have a Delica with M390 just in case I would have to work in an area or state with draconian knife laws ( shorter blade). M390 has my vote.

The m390 delica is still available at BBS last time I looked...

Edit: Also an m390 lightweight para3 coming soon from DLT...

Hey thanks for the heads up on the Delica and Para 3. I would go for a Para2 but I just don't like that Para3 for some reason. I just couldn't develop a liking for the one I had last spring>> but I love the Para2. The ZDP-189 Delica is still a nice small bladed unit I keep in my EDC rotaion and I think I might just get one of those M390 Delica models. I actually like the Delica better than I do that Para3. And it really baffles me too. Because I'm fanatical about the C-36 Military ( about my all time favorite EDC) and the Para2>> but there is just something about the overall design of the Para 3 that rubs me the wrong way. The blade is just not right for me.

Boy would I like have a beefed up Hawkbill in M390. A deluxe edition of a Spyderhawk with a G-10 handle and an M390 blade>> that would be an EDC for me in the Hawkbill department for sure.

From the few numbers I’ve seen it looks like they’re generally 59-62, but the sample size is pretty small

Honestly tho pretty much everything I have seen tested of Spydercos have been really good numbers no matter what the steel. I mean who else has anything close to the amount of different steel choices they do? Probably why almost everything I own other than a few fixed blades are Spydercos. Great ergos, steel choices, tons of models, many different handle materials, etc...

Forgot to mention I do have a 20CV Mule that I haven't had tested but i will say the edge retention is excellent. Have used the knife for breaking down boxes, plastic zip ties, lawnmower line, etc..

My M390 Mule is 59.2 per Kurt. I haven't sent him my 20CV Mule yet.

You know, I kinda feel that way about the para3 handle; it's just slightly too short and stubby for me. It actually feels much better choked up. I kinda wish maybe it had the same pommel as the PM2, even if it kept the shorter overall handle length. That said I still like my 52100 version because it's jewel-like lol.

Anyways, more on topic: have we seen a K390 Delica yet? It seems like that would be a hit, maybe in a nice color or material.
My collection so far: 52100 Military (2); 52100 PM2 (2); 52100 Para3; Stretch2 V-Toku; KnifeWorks M4 PM2; BentoBox M390 PM2; BentoBox S90V Military; Police4 K390; S110V PM2; SS Delica AUS-6; Wayne Goddard Sprint VG-10
Wish list: Hundred Pacer; Sliverax; Mantra; 52100 PM2 SE; Kapara

Not yet but I believe Sal indicated it’s in the works. Look for the thread called, “k390 fans rejoice”

That would be awesome. I have yet to try K390 but have heard nothing but good things. I do have a Para 3 M4 and Native M4 which I both love and K390 is supposed to have much stronger edge stability and retention so...😍 It really is hard to go wrong with Spyderco tho they really listen to what the customers want and make it happen.
