Totally forgot about that exclusive! Definitely threw out a curveball when coming out with that combo, and I'm glad they did.

It's one of the coolest exclusives I've seen yet and it's definitely of my favorite knives. I've been hoping they do similar runs for the Manix and PM2.

It was going to be my Para 3 this month, and I might still use it a bunch, but the Shaman called to me this morning. Probably because I've been carrying a Manix 2 so much lately.

Anyway, it's time for this neglected beauty to get some use!

Took most of the purple off the scale faces, I actually really like the smooth g10 feel and the visible dark purple on the edges.

I've been carrying REX45 all week at work, this Manix or my N5 LW. Good stuff! :spyder:

The cedar i'm working with is pretty too. :D

Edited to say click on the photo for better quality-- this is true of most of my uploads.

Thanks, Rick. I am really liking REX45 so far and look forward to putting both models to more use. Not sure how much i will carry them for outdoor work in the wet season here, but we will see. I always have my Native Salts and others for the wet and messy.

Even though i now have some K390 and REX45 i am greedily craving some 4V (or V4-E). I know you are a big fan. I am not likely to go secondary market, but hoping for some new releases. Unlike you and some others, i would rather it uncoated, so not loving the SNK models. I almost went for the Native, as it is a favorite platform. I will wait and see what else comes around. :spyder:

Is it wierd that I'm excited for fall in large part because I can't wait to carry my Shamans again?? ;) They're not the greatest for carrying in lightweight clothes...bring on the jeans weather!

Hope to see a Rex45 run in one of the models I like to carry. Normally not one for colors aside from black or green, but I love the burnt orange on these knives.

I know, right? When I picked up the models from the first sprint run I wasn't a huge fan of the scale colour but I loved the steel, and as time went on it really started to grow on me, now I won't even scale swap on any of Rex collection. :D

I bet the Native Chief would fit those bear paws pretty comfortably!

Well, why not "recycle" a pic I posted recently in the "What Spyderco..."-thread..
As said, I would have carried my Manix 2 LW in Rex 45 for the next month or so anyway, so RexTober comes at the right time for me! :)
Love the steel so far. Stays sharp forever (longer than HAP40, though this is just my gut-feeling) and starts to develop a nice patina and some minor pitting (not to be seen on the pic). Love that "used look"!
