I pulled the trigger on a shaman recently, and I’m very impressed so far. Great ergos and bombproof design. It made me wonder a bit if a fixed blade version could be done. Full tang, otherwise identical.
What do you all here think? Are there other models you would like to see get the same treatment?
For those who actually build/design knives *Sal and others* would the logistics/manufacturing be a difficult process?
Fixed blade release of a folder?

In my ignorant world it should be fairly easy to "just" add a tang to a folder blade, the scales would fit with minor mods.
Then there's that thing called 'in reality'..
One could always weld the lock open? :)

Re: Fixed blade release of a folder?
We just had a thread about this recently and someone made some pics of a Shaman with a longer blade.

A fixed blade Tuff would be nice. Maybe with a bit thinner blade, though. That thing was a monster.
Re: Fixed blade release of a folder?
Problem was that it's so thick behind the edge that it wasn't that good at actually being a knife. Ed's designs usually have much better blade geometry.

Sal said in the last thread about this that making a lower cost Proficient would be more feasible and likely a better fixed blade while accomplishing a similar goal.
