I really really like my Brouwer, and think Spyderco should do more titanium framelocks.

I love my Spyderco backlocks and compression locks, but I think maybe they've been pushing the comp lock too hard lately, and may be better off incorporating in some more framelocks. They do them really well as far as I can tell.

I don't want Spyderco to try and be like everyone else, but I think they could afford to use that mechanism just a little bit more. Include their industry leading ergonomics and blade steels, and their titanium framelocks would still stand out.

What do you guys think?

I’d love to see a framelock made in Golden.

I'm not really opposed to it but there's several to choose from already.

Spyderco has to refine their titanium frame lock design, too many with lock stick problems.
Alternative is to have all of them with steel insert and avoid sticking completely.

I like them but look at the market- they are discontinuing the mantra titanium framelocks.

I would like to see a Golden, Colorado frame lock knife with a new original design. Taiwan is great too, but I'd like something closer to the Slysz Bowie, no flipper.

Yeah. Compression lock models all over the place now. I am not opposed to it but it’s about last on my list of lock preferences.

Since that's all we see everywhere, I'd disagree with you, but that's just my frame/linerlock disliking self's opinion.

I cant remember the thread, but I think Sal was talking about possibly moving the polestar to golden with better materials. What would everyone think of a Titanium framelock polestar? I would buy two.

Every titanium framelock spyderco has made eventually gets discontinued... I wish they would pursue more stainless steel framelocks.

I dunno I think I could go the rest of my life and never see another thread about titanium frame lock stick and I'd be just fine. It seems to invite the nitpickers.

Spyderco filed a patent for the compression lock on 23 February, 2000. That means their exclusive rights to use this style of lock will expire in four months. They might be trying to make one last push with this lock before they face outside competition.

I've not yet taken to either framelock or titanium handles ... but apparently a large part of the knife buying population has. Three letters. R..I..L

The collaboration models with framelocks are very nice. The Ti Military has a beautiful framelock, if you want one that big. Surprised they discontinued the Sage 2, but I guess the market has spoken.

I want to see a new Compression Framelock.

I really do enjoy titanium as a handle material, can't say I enjoyed the Foundry as much. Ended up selling it.

I would stick with titanium over SS.

I really don’t care for frame or liner locks. A backlock, CBBL, powerlock, etc., would be more interesting.

Well..... I don't know. Once upon a time, I want to buy an frame lock and be a cool kid cus everyone and their grandmother has a framelock.
But most of the time framelock are just too fancy (and too pricy) for my use.....Like don't get me wrong, but lock is just one aspect if a knife, and I think there are many other more important things to consider in a knife.

What could be interesting is new framelock SALT knife, one side G10, other titanium and LC200N on top of that.

I think the market is very small for Ti handled knives, confined mostly to knife knuts who don’t mind dropping significant money on a heavier knife made with exotic materials. RIL are “made” for Ti. Trying to put something like a compression lock into a
Ti slab would drive the complexity, and therefore potential increase in problems, and price even higher. So, why do it? To see if you can would be the most likely answer but such a design would have a very short half-life.
