I don't mind big shipping costs in one instance, Ebay. There are a lot of experienced ebayers that realize other experienced ebayers charge extra for shipping to make up for Ebay fees. It's a fine line as a seller though, as you may scare off typical everyday buyers that don't understand why the shipping is so high. Outside of Ebay though, it kinda grinds my gears when I see shipping costs that make no logical sense. But in the end it's always the total cost that matters.

$200 is probably a lot more than DLT would charge given the M390 release history, but I just don't get all the complaining about shipping charges. Shipping is never free.

$15 for usps priority shipping plus insurance is... I mean, that’s about what it costs.
Depending on box size & how much the insurance is, it could actually be more than that.

Not really. I ship knives priority all the time. It's usually about $7-8.

But like I said it's the total price that matters. They can charge me $100 shipping if they want, I'm fine with that if the knife is only $50. When it's already a high fee with illogical shipping costs on top of it, what is happening is obvious. Well, not to some.

When I ship USPS Priority, it's $7-8 with the basic $50 insurance. When I insure for $200 value, for example, it jumps to $11-12 for USPS Priority. I don't skimp on insurance.

That's just shipping, not packaging, so $15 for shipping isn't extortion. I don't like it, but that's not my chief beef with BBS.

Charging way over MAP (usually), way over MSRP (sometimes), and not accepting returns, however, are what I dislike most about BBS.

In a free market, it's their right to charge what they want to, and it's our right to dislike their policies. We must choose either to suck it up when we really want a knife that no one else sells or to move on with life. I choose the latter.

Whatever reason that keeps the knife from becoming flipper bait I am actually good with. I would rather pay the premium to the business that commissioned the knife than someone who can hit refresh 1800 times then charges as much or more for the knife on the secondary market than BBS.

Same. I'd rather pay St Nick's $260 for the Shaman than pay a flipper $260 (or more) on eBay.

Could be worse, you could live in California and have to pay an extra $15-20 on every knife you buy :/

I'd probably have to pay $220 for that knife.

If the knofe is over $150 I usually go with a premium shipping option anyway (UPS) so I wouldn't sweat $15. I don't buy from BBS for the other reasons mentioned above.
