I began thinking what to me would be the ultimate Paramilitary 2, and I actually ended up with two. I wanted a satin M390 blade/hardware on factory peel-ply solid carbon fiber scales. I don’t like aftermarket parts so the hunt for the donor knives began. I finally ended up with a DLT M390 Red PM2 and a CF 52100 PM2. I Rit Dyed the red G10 to an awesome maroon color and added a forced patina to the blade. They both turned out better than expected, but, I still kind of wish the M390 had a combo blade as well. I still need to sharpen the 52100 again, and the maroon scales look way better in person. My iPhone adds a bit of red in every pic I take. Btw, I went the Texas A&M hence the color scheme!
Spyderco! No need to make a CF M390 now, I have mine!
So now let’s see y’alls Blade Swaps!

All but the DLT tan 20CV have been swapped. Some even had their liners swapped while looking for the perfect action and getting rid of one lock stick.
The ultimate for me is the KC Cruwear sporting the Maxamet gray scales.
Also, I rounded the scales of the BBS smurf blue, and dyed them darker.

Those all look awesome, what steel do you have with the Jade scales?anycal wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2019 8:58 amAll but the DLT tan 20CV have been swapped. Some even had their liners swapped while looking for the perfect action and getting rid of one lock stick.

My next ultimate will have something to do with LC200N or Micarta, but I’m doubtful to see either in the PM2.

IMHO, just sayin...
Re: Ultimate PM2 Blade Swap!
^^ Jealous. I need :spyder: CF scales. Had'em at one point  . Almost bought the KW M4 on exchange few days ago, just for the scales. But saving my milk money for the BBS K390.
52100.

Re: Ultimate PM2 Blade Swap!
Nice! I normally like smooth Carbon Fiber on my Spyderco’s but there is just something about the peel-ply on the PM2.

Re: Ultimate PM2 Blade Swap!
My ultimate Pm2 wouldn't have 12 holes in the scales.

Re: Ultimate PM2 Blade Swap!
It's just really hard to go wrong with a PM 2 or C-36 Military either one with a supersteel blade. I'm now going on my fourth year with my M390 Military for EDC uses. I might retire it eventually when I find another blade steel I like better for EDC uses but I'll never get rid of it.
It would be most interesting if Spyderco would make it available to customize a PM 2 or even Millie in any blade steel or handle material combo you desired. I'm hoping at some point that they make both the PM 2 and Millie models available in full SE again. I want to try a full Spyderedged blade in CTS-XHP . I just know in my gut that would be a great blade steel for full SE.
