K390 is Bohler-Uddeholm, HQ’d in Austria. .

I'm not referring to a foundry. I'm talking about the steels used to make knives at Spyderco locations. Seki super steels are super blue, Hap 40, ZDP-189 and K390.
Taichung may have used K390 but I don't think Golden has used K390.

We are not going to get a PM2 in K390.

The k390 mule was made in golden. So they can do it. Not sure if the import costs or something has changed the math of doing k390 in USA.

On a different note, I’m sick of these dumb tease posts. These are useless. Just tell us what you might be selling soon. Many of us won’t buy this anyway. Some of us can’t afford this mysterious thing. Some don’t even like this model or steel or color. Or maybe they sell out before we can even grab one (except on bbs, but that’s a different matter).

They just had two pm2 releases, so something different seems in order. I'm hoping for foliage green/elmax in a para 3 this time as I've never tried elmax. Didn't they also do a tanish manix in m4? I'd be happy with a re-run of that one, too.

Has there ever been an exclusive that used a steel that has never been used before? By that I mean, would you see a Vanax SC blade in an exclusive before you would see it come from Spyderco itself?

I've heard about Elmax, but have never seen it really talked about or people that use it around here. What is it comparable to?

I have a couple from other brands. Feels not too different from M390, a bit more sensitive to corrosion. No idea how Spyderco's heat treatment differs, of course.

Not another PM[23] or Manix 2, please, Elmax or not ... How about a green Manix XL in Elmax ? :)

Given that K390 has been used in Golden, Maniago, and Seki City, do you still think no K390 PM2?

I’ve heard from a reliable source this is indeed a “ranger green” G10 PM2 in K390, my CC one will be shipping the end of this week but I’m sure we’ll hear more details soon (my vendor did not know what steel or color it is, but it is absolutely a PM2).

You forgot that k390 was in a pingo made in Italy.

Never say never. I’m confident it’s a k390 pm2. My source is usually right.
