No idea... was watching something on YT, fidgeting... had to click on something so I held it in my left hand, closed... then I noticed it hurts, looked, et voila... blood - small clean cut on my left index finger.

Not really bad, stopped bleedin after 1 min... but it was closed

Is the cutting edge showing through the cut out for the lock tab, as on some other models?

Bizarre, I don't doubt that it's at all possible to cut oneself on a Spyderco (I mean they ARE matter separators), I've just never been cut...yet lol. Is there anything about the Spydiechef that could be dangerous when closed? e.g. a weak detent that might allow the blade to swing open ever so slightly, allowing a bit of edge to be exposed? Or something like that? I'm interested to hear Neuronic !

On the Spydiechef, when closed, the edge at the heel of the blade is very close to the spine of the handle.

Like I said, I didn't cut myself while fidgeting, I cut myself while holding the closed knife...

Just ckecked. When I run my finger along the back of the knife a little part gets between the scales and I can feel the edge, right behind the stop pin. If I apply some pressure I'm gonna cut myself...

Now that I think of it I do remember that some folks were stating exactly that problem (didn't the Shabaz, too? Have to check that...), but I would not have expected it to become a real thing for me...

Still don't consider it borderline dangerous, but here I am with a still open cut from a closed knife...

When the Ikuchi was released there was a minor dust-up concerning the tip either standing a bit proud of the liners (very rare) or close enough to cut a finger passing over it and the liners. On my example, the tip was not proud, but close, by design I think. I could run my finger over the liners and tip normally without problem but if I pressed down enough flesh was pushed into the liners gap to contact the point. Perhaps this relates to your issue.

That would give me a good excuse to sharpen it down a bit.
