New to the Forum, Longtime Sypderco Fan
Hello all,
Not sure this is the right or wrong place to introduce myself and say hello, Mods please move it if I posted in the wrong zone.
Very excited to join this community, which I just discovered from one other member who posted to a different forum site, kindly warning us there of knockoffs and flippers.
I've been enamored with Spyderco knives ever since I got my first (1st gen) Native. Since then I got the Native 5 which has had me happy for a long time, then a couple years ago or so branched out into other models. Love the PM3, but I have to say the Brouwer has been an EDC for me, as it's useful and also unimposing for when I have to carry it in countries and places where "weapons" are tightly controlled and loosely defined.
Though I will say, I think just about any knife without some amount of serration is a shame! Love the combo edge on my Natives. Wish they made some of the salt series in combo because I am around the sea quite a lot.
Anyway, I really look forward to reading and learning from you all!

Welcome!
Do you like fully serrated blades? There are definitely several models with fully serrated edges in the salt series, including the native.

Welcome to the forum, this is the very best place to say hello btw..
I am sure you´ll like it here, I do very much.
/ As you like serrations: Lately I am really enjoying the quite new Endela in SE with its rather thin, full flat ground blade. Maybe you´d want to have a look at this model? Though as I can tell from the knives you´ve listed, the Endela might be rather large for you (for me personally it is more on the smaller side).
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Welcome! :)
You can't go wrong with a Pacific Salt SE. You might like to take a look at the Salt 2 Wharncliffe in serrated edge too. :spyder:

Wow, what a warm welcome, thank you all!!
@JuPaul, I’m totally down with full serration! I’m an avid scuba diver, am on and around boats a whole lot. Serration just makes things so much easier imho.
@Wartstein, I’ll have to check out the Endela. I was totally monogamous with the Native for many years, then at a trade show I discovered the Spyderco booth and went kind of nuts (see photo). Since then I’ve become way more interested in other models, even if some aren’t for EDC, but are sometimes just fun to take out for a day or weekend.
I’d say the thing I’m most trying to learn about are sprint runs, I’ve seen some AMAZING ones, but always discover them too late. Also, that haul from the trade show kind of warped my idea of pricing because I got the hookup, lol! Hard to go from that to full retail if you guys know what I mean...
Thanks again for the warm welcome Spydey Fam!
