Very surprised to hear how many of you are apparently passing on this knife. I've been waiting for this one to finally try a Shaman, now I feel like it's not going to be as great as I was hoping for!
Go for it! This will be a great knife and will probably sell out in less than five minutes.
I like the CPM 4V Lil Native and wish I could get one of these for my first Shaman too, but I've already spent enough on knives for the time being. One of the hardest things I've learned with Spyderco is, you just can't get em all.

I didnt pay attention to the lil native sellout speed. But I remember when the para3 4v came out, it soldout in about 45min and there were over 700 units. Never the less, have been waiting for the shaman in this config so I'll throw my hat in this race. Fingers crossed :)

The Lil Native sold out in about 80 seconds.

****, thats fast. Guess we gotta play this out like a fcfs lotto
I've been going through all my contacts trying to find someone near their store. I think this one will be a lot more popular than the lil native run.
They pretty much stated a pm2 run is incoming in their Instagram comments too.
Ever since I got the para3 4v, I was amazed by the performance of the steel as I tested it against cardboard, wood and 316L ss wire. I also like the fact that this premium high sped tool steel which, through normal use, can be revived with a 30 seconds of stropping on diamond paste loaded leather and can last over a month. I then decided I want this steel in a bigger folder, but I'm not a fan of the pm2. Then, I bought a standard production shaman and said "thats the modek I want this steel in".
Well, since I recently received the Ankerson/Sanders "Province" Bowie, I don't see any real point in a Shaman in 4V -- do any of you?
And beside that, I am going to be in a remote area 9/19 and unless I want to cancel a trip, I am out of the game. This is probably a good thing for my budget anyway (gotta put a good spin on this, or at least find other ways to pat myself on the back for passing up an interesting knife.).
You can't get 'em all, and that is probably a good thing.
There's a big point to this knife for me. Hard use and wood carving in the country. This knife will never see the dredge or the beach for that matter. So it'll see more shelf time than I'd like but I'll make an exception for it. I've tried 4v and loved it, I just haven't tried spyderco's 4v. Looking forward go sharpening and using ~65 HRC. I can only imagine how crisp that apex will be. Plus if I'm fortunate enough to get this model I'll be beating on my s30v shaman more readily, which will be interesting.
