Clearly, the FRN on Salts should have buoyancy sufficient to keep the blade afloat, ...
I think that magic material is called “wood.” :D

Sorry you lost it, but it is a good reason (excuse) to get a new knife. I can honestly say a Pac Salt is the one knife I wouldn't want to be without, and would replace immediately if lost. I would prefer SE, but my PE is a razor. I can't justify getting another, even though I really want an SE version, all black.

That's no fun, just a thought but maybe a ARK neck knife would be a nice choice for a boat? I hope Sal makes a Swick in LC200N
Supposed to be one coming out this year based on the wharnie version.

Sorry to hear you lost one, I've been there before, lost my only combo edge delica kayak fishing. I don't like the idea of tethers on a boat or when diving. Last thing I want is to be wrapped around something. I use a non-locking carabiner clip attached to a short loop through the lanyard hole. When I want to set the knife down while fishing but not put it away I clip it to a bungee on the kayak.

This was more of a public service announcement but I really appreciate everyone's empathy!

Several catchermans many years ago, 2x pacific salts, countless other knives, probably 6 or 7 pairs of pliers and over 10 pairs of sunglasses and 3 phones. The ocean is a thief

(Mate at work lost his 35hp outboard motor when he hit a turtle, new boat and motor not bolted on)

Yep. I was an airborne paratrooper and we tethered any sensitive item to us so it wouldn't be lost on a jump. Big deal to lose a pair of $7000 nvg's

Arising from this thread, what retractable tether would be recommended?
