I never let mine get very dull, but the medium and fine rods are okay.Haunted House wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 1:47 pmCould you elaborate a little more on this?
When you say “standard sharpmaker”, do you mean the medium & fine rods that come with it?
I’d imagine it would respond well the the diamond/cbn rods, but I’ve been wondering how it would jive with alumina ceramic, and how much of a chore it would be.

I haven't had to touch up my PM2 yet, but I did hit the K390 Para 3 on the good ol' brown and white rods after I developed a bit of a snag in the edge and it responded very quickly.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.
Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

Here's the real question:
If they had a P4LW in K390 and a SS Stretch in K390, which would you purchase first, and why is the answer both? :D

2 sad ratings why it hasn't.
1) legally the size can be prohibitive, plenty of (if not most) places restrict the legal blade length for pocket knives. Even if you live somewhere that goes up to 4 inches you'd get in trouble
2) the price was more than a lot of people were willing to pay. I don't think the price wasn't justified, you're getting a lot of K390 for the price. But it was still more than some people could put up

Re: K390 fans rejoice!
I'm fairly sure I read/heard somewhere that the g10/k390 police 4 was only made to see if demand was high enough to make a lightweight frn version. Making frn molds is evidently much more expensive for a small run than g10 so they did a small run in g10 to test the market. If it sold poorly, they would discontinue, if it sold well, they'd replace it with an frn version. We now have the frn version, so the g10 must've sold well or they wouldn't have wasted money on molds. They started with vg10 on the lw, but there will be variants just like all of the seki models.
