Seriously, the Company has to play to its strengths.
Asking Spyderco to make fiddly scissors and forged tooltips
is like asking your pitbull to fetch the morning paper.
It doesn't end well.
My pitbull would do fine fetching the paper, but I see your point and don't disagree. I've got a Spyderench and a Byrd Harp. They're both well built and unique tools, but I usually carry a Leatherman. A new Spyderco multitool would most likely be more expensive and no more useful than what is already on the market.

In the same manner that JD advocated the return of the C60 Ayoob knife, I'd do cartwheels down the center of an Interstate for the return of the Spyderench, even a sprint run. I could never justify spending $500+ on the ones going on the various online auction sites.
Cool factor aside, I pack a Swisstool RS at work and a Spirit at home, and still find that all I really need most of the time is a knife.
