Lanyard tube rattle in Taichung models

Anybody else experience this on their Taichung Spydercos?
Both my SpydieChefs, Bouwer and Smock have developed this annoying lanyard tube rattle.
Maybe one day Spyderco will stop ruining their knives with ugly, obtrusive lanyard holes.
A man can dream...

I have some that do it too. It never really bothered me, but some people here have suggested: remove the lanyard tube entirely or put locktite on the tube or put figernail polish on the tube. All of those require pulling off the show-side scale so don't go for it unless you are comfortable taking your knives apart.

I understand the possibility of fixing it, and am more than comfortable with these DIY solutions.
The main reason I am posting here is because I’d like to bring this issue to Spyderco’s attention and potentially highlight how silly it is- Taichung is where most high end Spyderco folders are manufactured, but all the recent ones exhibit quite a solvable problem. Spyderco needs to get it fixed. Why not, right?!
Also, maybe we get REALLY lucky and they ditch these useless (for the most part) lanyard holes, altogether

Yes, my Advocate's lanyard tube had a slightly annoying rattle. A drop of super glue at the right place fixed it for me. I didn't have to disassemble anything.

I can't figure out how having a lanyard hole became the default rather than a specific and somewhat rare feature. Like an Emerson wave, it's useful, but only for a very small number of specialists, so why do 90% of knives have lanyard holes and <10% have a wave?

I've removed the lanyard tube from both my Spydiechef and Advocate because of rattle. A $200+ knife that rattles like a maraca seems cheap. Shouldn't have to jerryrig a fix with superglue on a knife that costs that much. But, removing the tube doesn't detract from aesthetics really, so no big deal.

I just put a drop off locktite around the mating surfaces and then wipe off the excess. Hasn't came back since.

Well they CAN fix it by flaring the ends, then it won't rattle but everyone who wants to take them apart will complain about how hard it is to get the scales off. You can do the same with a tapered punch and you should be able to do it gently enough to stop the rattle but still be able to get the scales off easier than when Spyderco do it.
I've never had a rattling lanyard tube but the stop pins on my Caribbeans do rattle. I put a little dab of grease on the end that goes into the G10/liner and that shuts it up.

That’s a good point. How many holes does a knife need to have, for crying out loud?!?!

My point exactly. I have no problems removing or applying loctite on my knives, but when I spend that kind of money.. I expect more.
Also, it is obvious that it’s not supposed to rattle. The rattle gets developed after carrying and use (use of the knife, not the lanyard tube). Quite unacceptable if you ask me.

I’ve got a couple knives with a rattle in either the lanyard tube or stop pin. If it’s annoying enough I just put a drop of heavy grease on it. Stops the noise with no modification, and it doesn’t hurt anything. Done best upon reassembly after cleaning but can be done with no disassembly at all.
