Para 3 CF M4

#1

Post by Username827 »

I know that some may have had enough of the Para 3 exclusives, I know my wallet has.
With that being said, I wonder if the company who dropped the Para 2 M4 CF exclusive (Knifeworks I believe) will drop that model in a Para 3?
I think that would be awesome!

Knifeworks are very responsive to their customers but they also seem to have been left holding onto some of their exclusives for quite a while longer than most. I can't speak for them but my guess is they won't take the chance.

Seems like other dealers have figured out a good formula: popular model + popular steel choice + g10/frn in a unique color = quick sell out. KC has the former parts down, but keeps sticking with "safe" black g10, black cf, brown frn, etc. Not as exciting, imo. But it seems like they all sell out eventually, so maybe they don't mind the slower burn.

I'd personally love this model and have been patiently waiting to see if one would come. M4 is my favorite all around steel and a Para 3 is almost always in my pocket. I have the Blade hq version in Jade G10 but would prefer a peelply CF version.

Only if it's DLC coated. Man, that'd be sexy.

Yeah, who knows it may even be in the works, but I'd agree with what has been said above, that KnifeWorks has in the past held on to stock probably longer than they'd like, and that may discourage them from making the same sort of investments and taking the same sort of risks that haven't had the returns that other retailers may have had. Then again, supposedly Spyderco has lots of Exclusives in the pipeline!
My collection so far: 52100 Military (2); 52100 PM2 (2); 52100 Para3; Stretch2 V-Toku; KnifeWorks M4 PM2; BentoBox M390 PM2; BentoBox S90V Military; Police4 K390; S110V PM2; SS Delica AUS-6; Wayne Goddard Sprint VG-10
Wish list: Hundred Pacer; Sliverax; Mantra; 52100 PM2 SE; Kapara

Knifeworks, not Knifecenter, was the one that did the CF/M4 PM2.

They've had a mix of slow and fast sellers over the years... Green G10 204P PM2 was fast; Military in same configuration was slow. Grey G10 52100 Manix was slow, CF M390 Military was fast.

I think the CF/M4 PM2 was slowed by the relatively less expensive jade G10/M4 BHQ PM2 being released around the same time.

edit - jade G10 was less expensive; typo
