Hi everyone, so I just noticed last week that there are a PM2s and 3 in exclusive DLT configuration. Very late realization of something that is just totally lovely to me the moment I saw it :(

Red / crimson scales. *(This hits me good)
Satin blade.
M390 steel.

As I search around the web, I came across these photos *(attached on post). PM2& 3 in that kind of red is lovely altho PM3 is too small for my taste..but next I saw a Millie in that kind of red...instantly I want one :p

Umm I dunno if asking for links for reference or to somewhere in this case would violate the forum rules..but does anyone around here know or have a tip where I should look around?

I tried to look around the Bay, River, other sources but can't seem to find any red scales like on the photos for the Biggie Millie..

Cheers & have a good day :) :spyder:

The pictures you included have factory digicam scales that have been Rit dyed to red. The DLT exclusives have solid red G10 from the factory. If you want one like in the photos you attached, get a standard S30V digicam model and a bottle of red Rit dye.

Ah I see, I just know that you could dye the scales that way. Thanks for the info Accutron :)

So...it's as simple as: Get a Millie in camo, release / disassemble the scales, dunk n dip it on Rit dye of preference?

*It wouldn't void the warranty now or will it? Lol :D

Thx for the feedback Evil D! :)

I don't know where we stand on the disassembly voiding warranty debate, and I really don't think dye is enough to hurt the integrity of a knife enough to void a warranty. There are online vendors selling custom dyed knives, I wouldn't think they're sold with a voided warranty.

I have heard some people talk of dying their scales without disassembling the knife. I don't think it would hurt anything, but most of them aren't too hard to disassemble.

For those concerned, disassembling a Spyderco knife does not void the warranty UNLESS the knife is damaged in the process, or reassembled incorrectly. Here's a link to the official warranty statement:
