The BBL is my favorite lock, but the backlock seems more appealing for a salt model. Fingers would slip more on the ball cage underwater. Also I think there may be a problem with finding a non-rusting coil spring metal. They might be able to do a modification on the FRCP moulds to get a head start on that, which brings up the question of "seaworthiness" of FRCP vs. FRN. But I think they would probably have to start from scratch on the moulds, especially if they go with FRN, which may behave differently in the moulds from FRCP. Also, I think it would be unlikely that they would do an M2 XL before the regular M2.

It would be a lot easier for me to wait on a salt XL if I had a red G-10 DLC 4V one to use in the meantime ;) -- really I'd be happy with black G-10 and satin 4V or K390.
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod

i prefer the cbbl to a backlock, but agree it’s not best for marine environments. i’d love to see the manix backlock in lc200n with a standard manix 2 blade thickness and thinner g10 scales than were on the disco’d manix backlock. i’d also love a compression lock manix, but i feel like that’s just greedy.

The autonomy spring is pretty corrosion resistant. Pretty sure that could use that material.

I would only be interested in an XL back lock manix myself.

I'd buy either, but I'm really hoping FRCP, backlock or CBBL.

Yeah, this is something that could likely be done much easier than a new FRCP mold, although a new Manix Backlock LW would br my preference. I'd definitely buy a G10 Manix Backlock Salt though, especially with coarser Peel Ply G10 than was on the original backlock.

I'd love to see them bring back the original C95 Manix (dino jimping and all) as a Salt sprint with DLC LC200N and semi-translucent Day Glow Neon Yellow G10. :D

that’s a pretty specific and specialized ask. i’m not sure these would sell.

While waiting on comp lock Manix, you might try to find a Superleaf, a fantastic knife and one of my favorites.

I would not buy a complock Manix, even a Salt. It’s going backwards. I know people love them, though.

A G10 Salt would be okay, but FRCP would be my first choice. It makes a strong and light weight knife.

Yeah I just want a basic model.

I'd settle for a LC200N Chief with LC200N back lock and everything upgraded for salt use. Would prefer to keep black G10 though.
