Any well worn knives?

#1

Post by loamy47 »

I love my PM2 and my Dragonfly. These guys are my everyday work loadout. At least one of them has been in my pocket every single day since I got them, and they show it. I love it though because it makes them truly mine.

We see pristine knives on here every day, who has some knives that have some scars?

That KRIS model is another I would dearly love to test drive in SPYDEREDGE

You would think as much as I've used my ATS-55 Stainless RESCUE model over the past 3 years that it would look like it's been through 2 World Wars. But other than a few minor scratches it's still nice looking. Really none of my EDCs look very bad.

That's one of the biggest reasons I like G-10 handles>> they just don't seem to get beat up very badly.

I bought a second one as a user because I didn't want to damage my first mint Kris :p
It does see carry somewhat often now though :)

These are both currently residing on my work bench and are covered in goo at the moment. My GB is sitting next them in the same state.

Image

This one's seen some carry too. Clip is getting kind of worn, etc

I have others that are scratched up but the handles on all of them look great. I'm rotating between a whole bunch of knives. So none of them really get carried/used all that much. I have about 10 that I carry at work and even those look pretty good. My serrated Salt (1) and Ladybug are used for yard work and they're starting to show it. Still in nice shape though considering they rarely get cleaned.

My blacked out PM2 was showing some pretty good wear (similar to yours) when I sold it a few months ago. The guy I sold it to seemed happy with it.

I'm surprised at how many factory edge grind lines are visible in this thread.

Thanks. Puts me in the mood for camping!

Here's some others from my knife drawers.

First run Tasman Salt that spent its first few years as my dedicated knife for cutting grip tape after applying it to new skateboards. Usually don't scratch my knives up too bad...

The edge was atrocious after not maintaining it well. A while back I reprofiled it to 20 degrees. Working on taking it down to 15 now.

Convexed Police 3 that was used so much it developed a J shape at the ricasso.

Heavily used Ronin 2 with a reprofiled, chipped edge:

Is this really a huge chip that you then sharpened (a bit like a serration) in the middle of the edge? Can't quite determine it on my phone...

May I ask: What do you mean by that exaxtly?

That you can see by looking at the edge on a pic wether it is still the factory edge or has been sharpened several times already? (Cause it's a bit less perfectly straight then for example)?
