this cut was not a very big deal. i thought about posting the actual cut, but it's almost embarrassing for how heavily bandaged it was. to be fair, it just wouldn't stop bleeding. it's not a nothing cut, but it's really not that bad. i've certainly had much worse.
definitely be careful and don't forget to respect that edge.

Re: reasons to like the compession lock:
When I first saw the pic in the OP, I was sure you were saying "yeah, my thumb is out of commission for a while, but at least I can still fidget with my compression lock knives!"
Compression lock is one system that has yet to bite me. Even the spring bias on a backlock has got me when doing things like flicking. CBBL is also pretty good, but if you're flicking open with your thumb the smooth ramp of resistance could still catch you on the wrong day.

Re: reasons to like the compession lock:
i dont know about all this. i have faithfully carried a para 3 for 2 years tip up back pocket with the blade toward inside my pocket not the seem. tried to switch it so it is against the seam but made it harder to draw and open. never once have i had an issue. not once have they opened on me. i also have carried a little native the same way no issues. i actually find anything that spring closes to be more dangerous to me than any liner/frame lock or compression lock.

This is why I don't like assisted without flippers (**** I worry about the flipper being pressed too, which is why I never liked those either - I feel safer with an auto, but those are not legal here)Monty wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 11:38 amOuch. The one time I've really gotten into my thumb was my first and last experience with an assisted opener. Didn't know it was assisted, started slowly thumbing it open and pow, thumbnail to the bone. Bled all over the counter at the retail shop...and the knife.
