Calendar Contest Decision!

Even though we're all going into "battle" :p with one another for an opportunity at a spot in the calendar this year, I've got a handful that I like and am having a difficult time making a decision! I would like to hear your opinions on which catches your eye, or appeals most to you. Thanks! (I'm skeptical about the Salt 2 photos, as atilla took home the grand prize last year with the same knife)

Tough call but I kind of like the Urban or Dragonfly pics. Remember the formatting requirements. I don't think some of those pics will work

Remember I did this last year? I had a hard time deciding which pic to use and this year's not going to be any different. If I don't have time to take some more I think I'm going to dig up my thread from last year and choose from one of those.

I do, that's where I got the idea from! Yea, after looking back I believe the shot of the Salt 2 in the water is landscape format. I THINK the others are ok though??

Hey Rick, great shots! The last shot with the SALT 2 gets my vote as well. I believe the cover shot last year was a Pacific Salt, so no need to worry about repeating! :D

Also, I'm glad you started this thread. I seem to recall a similar thread created the past couple years and have always found it helpful. Would you mind if others also submitted photos in this thread for help deciding?

Yep, I thought of this because of SharpGuy's thread last year.

Absolutely not, lets all try and help each other with our tough decisions! I'd honestly prefer to see some of us regular forumites place in the calendar than just the pro's that chime in for only the calendar contest!

Keep in mind the formatting - portrait.

I like the detailed shots, which includes the lettering. Para 3 and UKPK would be my choice.

Edit: I agree with Filoso. Didn't realize that Salt was yours. Yes that one - portrait, detail, and nice scenery.

I prefer either the DF2 or Urban (in that order).

I like the colors in the Urban shot, but the handle may be a little too close to the border when it's cropped for printing.

Second choice is the UKPK

Thanks for all the feedback so far everyone...but unfortunately it's been pretty well split between 4 of the 5 photos hahaha!

If it helps at all, a couple reasons why I voted for the Salt 2 photo. It has a great context (Salt 2 at the beach), the colors really pop, and compared to the others it seems to be the best composed in my opinion. I like the dragonfly shot too but the subject matter seems to be a little bit too low in the photo. Like others said, it’s important to keep in mind the framing of the subject in each photo.
